I have ZERO criticisms of the Mosquito by the way, it was an EXCELLENT design, but for whatever reason it just generates ZERO what-if ideas in my brain... :-\
Same here. If I see a Spitfire or other warbird flying overhead I stop and watch until it disappears. But when it comes to modelling, I'm just not interested in the slightest.

Well when it comes to Spits and 109s I think there are valid criticisms you can make of them: narrow-track undercarriage, weak & widely spread-out guns in the early Spits, the 109's tiny cramped cockpit with poor visibility, the Spit's kinda lazy roll rate, and the limitations of it's carburetted engine, etc, etc...

The only real criticism's I can make of the Mosquito are the appalling escape provisions for the navigator, and it's wooden structure rotting in the tropics.

Surprised by the release coming out now as would have expected this at Telford, nice to see postwar bomber version and the Target Tug. Suspect if Airfix do release something at SMW it will probably be 48th aircraft surprise or even 35th armour, as they have provided the new Mossie boxing to the 72nd fans ahead of the show.

As to earlier questions Mach2 fo the Grumman E-1 Tracer, clear prop did announce it along with a super frelon but i fear the war has changed their release plans.

As to Scimitar, Airfix did the Swift which was just as limited, they wont touch it at the momnet becuase DBMK are doing a 48th version and said they plan to do a 72nd version, so Airfix wont stamp on the toes of a new boy just yet (think their 32nd Hornet kit will be on display at SMW so items finally getting into production.

Could end up with a new Mossie at Telford. The post war bomber version may well fit into the final GB of the season.

New outfit doing larger 3D printed model kits. 1/48 Scimitar and 1/32 Hornet have been released. A 1/32 Sea Fury has been announced and another announcement is due at Telford.

I've still got one unbuilt Skybirds 86 Scimitar kit, so that will do me thanks.   ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Nothings been released yet, the 1/32nd Hornet has been produced so may will be  on show at SMW, but guessing it may be end of the year before release.
Everything else is either in 3D design abd research, prototyping as 3D prints or in kit design.

The 1/48th Scimitar 3D print was shown last year so may be following the Hornet. I suspect the 1/72nd Scimitar will be a year or two away yet and depend on sales of their other kits.

I've very long-standing ideas for tandem-seat and turboprop Mossies, but sadly no longer have Matchbox Mossies for the job(s).

Twin Beryl turbojets? Twin Centaurus? Twin RR Eagles? British Mistel combo? Just trying to help get the creative juices flowing

As to the new Mossie, have I misunderstood the e-mail, or when it says "new parts" does that indicate the incorrect bomber doors are to be replaced? I thought it was hinted at but not totally sure.
