Thank you gentlemen, I had a cracking of days    ;D

My dad worked in Tooley St and knew a few blokes who had stalls in Borough Market when it was still a proper wholesale market back in the 60's. Got me a part time job during the school hols when I was 16 pulling barrows. Hard work but well paid for the time. Also learned to drink

The market it'self has changed enormously since then, much more a tourist spot, but still a great place to wander through, and still some good pubs.

IIRC my Uncle Alf worked for a short time at the nearby Hop Exchange.

My Dad's family lived there way back when.  Successive generations are recorded dying in the workhouse.

Show's how its changed. Some of the old warehouses on the river, where the Banana Dock's were in Tooley St, have been converted into appartments and go for over a £1,000,000.  I only know because I looked in the estate agents that is under Tower Bridge Approach.

Anyway did some modelling this morning

190 has it's transfers, just got to figure out what stencils to apply. I won't be putting many on. Some of them are ridiculously tiny  :-\  Plus as I thought the canopy masks were very poor, to say the least.  :-\

The IL2 looks as though it will survive, touch wood, and has been returned to the stage it was at before I cocked it up.

Also did some fettling on the Fw 187   It's getting there

Yup, it's amazing that sometimes you can get a lot done in a few hours and at other times you seem to achieve nothing in a whole day...weird.  There's probably some time/spacial theory or whatever out there that explains it, but who really cares  ;D

Meanwhile been busy around the flat the last couple of days, so no progress. Hopefully a little more on friday and saturday.

I suspect we've all experienced the same thing from time to time.

You may recall that I've been prattling on about the AK marker pens I got and that the only one I wasn't happy with was the RAF Interior Grey/Green. Well after reading Charlie_c67's remark I thought I wonder ?

So I purchased the boxed set of Allied internal colours, 3 colours one of which was RAF Grey/Green. I wanted the othet 2 anyway, so it wasn't a great loss if it was the same. Guess what ? Whilst the pen and all the labeling is exactly the same as my origional one, the colour is completely different. Looks good to my eye, and testing it against both Xtracrylic and Hataka it virtualy matches

So shoddy quality control or a "rogue" batch ? Anyway an e-mail has been sent to Jadlam, whose website/on-line purchasing is horrendous in my view and I await the outcome.

Might also be worth giving AK a shout and let them know. Could also be more productive in the long run!

Yup I thought of that after I'd sent Jadlam the e-mail yesterday and sent them a copy.

Meanwhile not as much progress as I'd hoped for. Unfortunately one of my current medical conditions, which is normaly under a reasonable level of control, has a nasty habit of rearing it's head every now and then just to remind me it's still there and lurking in the bushes   Lets just say that my hands end up shaking and it's bad enough holding a mug let alone a scalpel and tweezers with fiddly bits

So managed to just about get the matt varnish on the 190 and then it'll be reading until the football/rugby on tv

That looks VERY smart Chris, please can you post a link to the build thread, if any?

Very little progress over the last couple of weeks, but then March is always a very busy month for me on the social, business and medical fronts. Been even more so this year as I've had a couple of 80th birthdays and a 60th wedding anniversary to go to. Shows my age   I have made a little progress on the 190, and indeed she's probably within a couple of hours of finnishing, touching wood. I just need to find those couple of hours.
