Quote from: NARSES2 on February 25, 2026, 05:40:36 AMMeanwhile been musing on my next project (s). Pulled the Fromm-Azur Fairey Battle from its hidy hole and thought ; "Danish ?"  Maybe, and copy TomZ and give it a spinner ? Just need to source some Danish markings circa 1939 now.

Found I have some Danish period markings, from a Fokker D XXI   and then thought about making the Battle a 3 seater for the recce/light bomber role. Middle seater would be the camera operator/observer ?

Not modelling related but returned to one of my old haunts yesterday afternoon, Borough Market. Fantastic Italian restaraunt for lunch in King's Head Yard, one of the best Italian's I've ever had and when you see Italian's dining in there you know it's a good one   Then into the Old Kings Head pub next door which was like stepping into a time warp. Hasn't changed much at all since I drank there in the 70's   Cracking afternoon

I used to walk through Borough from London Bridge Stn to work at Waterloo.  Nice part of London.
My Dad's family lived there way back when.  Successive generations are recorded dying in the workhouse.  I'm a long way from that now.  Both figuratively and literally.

Many Happy Returns mate.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Happy birthday mate. Sounds like you had a good one

I didn't know March the Oneth was your birthday Chris, you kept that quiet.

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

My late Mum's roots are in that part of the world; her dad's work (scalemaker for Vandome's) required him to move his family to Manchester, she was the only one of her siblings to be born Up North.

I'm a volunteer steward at Shakespeare's Globe and whenever I'm heading there from London Bridge station via Borough Market I always feel as though I'm walking amongst family ghosts.

And zenrat - you probably know this already but Charles Dickens grew up in the Marshalsea Debtors Prison - a section of wall still exists on Tabard Street opposite St George the Martyr Church.  Rellies of mine briefly (1880s IIRC) lived on Tabard Street.
