Continuing to work on both the 187 and the Mosquito.

The later is a bit of a chore I'm afraid. Finding the correct parts on the various sprues and amongst the myriad unused ones is a bit of a chore, and then when found most need some cleaning up of some very light flash and/or mould lines. This has to be done as it will impinge on how well they fit in most cases.

Personally I think Special Hobby have pushed their manufacturing capabilities a step to far with this kit and this leads to a "niggly" build. Shame as the level of detail is superb.  :-\

Have to confess I didn't enjoy the SH Mosquito at all.  Given it's bloated fuselage and other errors, it was a total disappointment.  A great pity, as the moulding is good and the vast array of spares is useful.

Do you want the spares from mine when I come up in January for the Bolton Show Lee ?

Got a little bit of progress made over the weekend on both current kits and the next one on the line (which will be a Wif out of the box), not much but normally progress on a weekend is zero.

Which Mosquito are you doing - the PR.XVI or the NF.XXX?  The former is the less bad.  I mean, the fuselage is still fat and the nose off, but the NF.XXX looks worse, because the nose is too wide.  The Tamiya one slims inward, but the SH doesn't.  Don't have it to hand - I slung it in the loft months back.

Slow progress on the NF.XXX Lee. Hopefully get the fuselage closed up before 2026  :banghead:

My condolences.  Amongst the many other errors, the radio gear is wrong.  It should have the same Gee setup as the Tamiya mk XIII/XVII.  I don't have any resin ones I could pass along either.  The box behind the pilot, yes, but not the stuff on the parcel shelf.  I'll have a look anyway.

Just got the first coat of paint on the Tamiya one I'm converting into an NF.36.  That shed is bloody freezing.

Sounds like you need the rest of the RAF bomber crew flight kit - boots, long johns, pullover, scarf, helmet and glovrs for working in the shed  ;D

Much to my suprise I actually got a modelling related present yesterday  ;D  The 3 ladies in my life clubbed together and bought me a Big H gift voucher   Let's just say it was a decent sum and I know exactly what it's going to get spent on when the kit concerned is released some time in April

What was actually even more suprising was that I didn't know the 3 of them were in contact   and before anyone says anything they are my niece, my great niece and my lady-friend.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
