On my way back from the shops this morning, which is a 15 minute stroll, are passed 17 dumped Christmas trees, 12 of which were in the same spot just around the corner from my estate ! Probably dumped by the same group of shysters who regularly dump matresses there. Charge people to take their rubbish away and then dump it for the council, aka the Ratepayer, to clear.

These guys are so regular it's ridiculous and how the council can't catch them is beyond me. Probably can't be bothered to.

End of rant before I need to "Book" myself for breaching the no politics rule  ;)

At the risk of being "Booked" ... They're probably the council workers employed to catch such people.

A shame that they don't think about recycling.  One of the state parks here in Jersey used to accept Christmas trees to help with dune construction.

Also Easter eggs have appeared in the shops.

There are places that take Christmas trees for recycling over here Scoot, and it wouldn't suprise me if the guys who do the dumping are saying that's what they are doing. With a small charge to cover exspences of course.  :-\

Meanwhile at the bench I've done some psr on the Fw 187 and worked on the interior of the Mosquito and an IBG Fw 190D-15 I'm working on. The Fw is a little dissapointing if I'm honest. It's got lovely detail and excellent fit, but a lot of tiny parts and p.e. Now you can get away without using most of the p.e. but cleaning up some of the sprue gates on the larger parts is awkward, let alone the smaller ones. Whilst the sprue it'self is circular, the gate is more squarish and tends to impinge rather heavily on the joining surfaces. They are just awkward to clear up. The most annoying thing those is that the instrument panel transfer doesn't fit the supplied instrument panel   Still I've the Yahu one so that will get used.

But progress is progress.....right ?

Yes, yes it is.

It's academic, but what about sticking the instrument panel to plastic card and cutting around that, rather than using the kit part?

That's not unusual IME.

I thought of that, but I've got the Yahu panel, so I'll use that.

True, but given the attention they've paid to detail and quality of fit in the rest of the kit, it just got to me a bit. Plus it really is a poor fit, it's just sloppy.

If you don't clear the first ones up quickly then the local numbskulls get the idea it's OK.  Some may even think it's officially sanctioned and the local council want them to leave them there.

Redundant Christmas trees are collected  by various zoos and wildlife parks around us, and fed to camels, lllamas etc.   A lady in our village keeps goats, and tells us that a recently dead conifer in their paddock   is regarded by her goats as a great treat!

Chris, did I give you a correct Ta 152 fin for the 190?  If not, I'll cast one up for Bolton.

To a certain extent I think that's true mate. Inevitably the council have to take them away eventualy, and I as a rate payer have to cover the costs
