I think I had an e-mail pointing out that there were several large scale Gustaf's coming out from different manufacturers, but they were all different sub-marks. I think it was -2, -5/6 and -10 and whilst I'm not sure what the visual differences are, there must be enough for the market to cope with this many at the same time.

The only 109 I'm interested in is the forthcoming Eduard 72nd K-4 and even then, I'll wait until next year to get the overtrees at Telford.

As for the Mosquito repop, I'd like to see the photos Airfix worked from for the 139 Sqn B.35, as having quite a few photos of their aircraft at that point in time, the majority seem to have black u/c.  I feel cheated too, because it really needs the squadron badge on the fin and squadron codes or the BFO serials on the fuselage.  A period colour photo (new to me) proves it.

Having two, I may just add the second set of underwing serials to the fuselage, as they'd the correct style. And not all had the squadron badge above the fin flash either.

They missed the wire guard around the tailwheel and tailplanes, although they graciously give the mounts for the latter. And whilst they were at it with the new sprue, couldn't they have added the missing starboard petrol cooler and fixed the tailwheel, which were pointed out FOUR years ago? I also think they should have went for the more colourful TT option.

Speaking of 109s, they do seem to be the thing of the moment don't they? Everywhere I looked they were more of them, in every scale, scheme and sub-type imaginable. If I actually liked the things I'd be over the moon...
Well, I DO love them - in 1/72  ;D  ;D .At last count I had about 20! I've recently added another three Airfix BF-109E and, BF-109F kits!

ps - I also love FW-190s

Now you see I DO love FW 190s, at least the radial-engined ones. Probably my favorite WWII fighter design.

Certainly a 139 Sqn example, as there's one painted and part decalled, although that's getting proper squadron codes as they're all cut out ready to go.  I'm just not too happy with some of the upper paintwork, so now I have the correct Xtracrylix Med Sea Grey I can do some touch up work with either a brush or maybe the airbrush.

The TT.35 is more long term, although I did start an Airfix one on Sunday that could end up as a TT - I did put the relevant new bits in the box and I have some dayglo strip decals I could use, albeit for a Meteor F8.  They should fit...

Actually, the D series are my favourites 😊👍

That codged-together tail stretch just doesn't sit right with me, plus one of the things I really like about the A series is the extemely neat radial installation. Yes, I know that the D had objectively better performance, but this is all about personal preference.

I'm with Beermonster58.  The FW190D-9 up to the D-15, plus the Ta-152C are handsome beasts.  Audis compared to the Bf109's Volkswagon.

Airfix have just announced that the Victor is back in stock. I have enough for my plans though.

I'm with Harold, the original 190 looks better than the Jumo engined D. The BMW 801 variants look complete and intentional design, the Jumo engine types are swaybacked with that clumsy fuselage extension and when you add on the later fat fin it's even worse.
What I find hilarious is the claim, often more of a declaration, by some that the Ta 152 is the "most elegant" fighter of WWII.

It does have long wings.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Jadlam have it at £67.45, 10% less.

It'd also be 10% less with my Airfix Club membership, plus I've got £11 worth of Hobby Reward points.

Still don't want one though... ;D
