Another vote for the BMW engined Fw.190s!

They look so much more elegant than the D models, & the Ta.152 just looks butt-ugly!

Oddly I find the D's to be quite elegant looking, whilst the BMW engined ones look pugnacious and purposeful
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That's actually a pretty reasonable assessment. The 190 always had a very mean, purposeful ,look about it, regardless of version. Far more attractive than ANY Spitfire! I feel the same way about the Bf-109. I think there was always a very functional simplicity about WWII Luftwaffe designs. The term "ugly" (to quote an earlier comment) is very subjective. One might, for example, describe a Ju-87  & Ju-52 as "ugly" but, they  worked very well in their  roles and that surely is what really matters?

The issues of "best" and "personal favorite" are very different. I'd be the first to admit that the FW 190A was only top dog for a brief period. My affection for it is based entirely upon subjective factors like aesthetics and my own ideas of "engineering elegance". How much of that translates into objective performance advantages is debatable.

Oh yeah, totally agree.

Regarding FW190s, the radial 190s are attractive designs but the D-9 and subsequent versions are, to me, moreso.  But the Ta152H?  Too gangly, not a fan.

Spitfires?  Very pretty, all of them (although the Spitfires 22/24 and Seafire 46/47 are probably better described 'handsome'): the best looking ones to me are the Mks 14, 18 and19.

190A for me - purposeful, brutish. The Dora is just the Fw-190 in it's awkward teenage years - The Ta-152 is that kid that never fit his body, every school had one.

Well said, agree with most assessments, though I do like the Ta-152.

For Spitfire's ... Mk's 19 to 24 for me ,,big ,bad and brutish as hell
As for the FW family ,,i didn't mind the A model but this is where we all have a fav's and not fav's and for me the D-9 and up to the TA-152 families really got my attention ,,longer and sleeker in design and like Kit ,,longer wings  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

Pity there's only actually two out of that lot I'd want. However, I guess that offloading these kits gives us a clue as to what's disappearing off the Airfix catalogue next year

Oddly, I enjoyed the aesthetics discussion more than the black week discuounts. Ah, well..
And I'd agree with Narses Würger conclusions any day. For the Spitfires - hard, but I think I'll go for the F.21.  <_<
