Loads of aftermarket bits coming out now. Have a look on Hannants.

Here's a new thing: official Airfix masking sets:

I'd be betting less on Airfix/Hornby going bust than them trying to rid themselves of "Made in India" stock that's not worth sending to the USA, given the insane tariffs on Indian made goods.

Their bottom line may take a bit of a thumping but I'm not so sure they're going down-&-out just yet.

Thanks H.  I only buy transfers or similarly flat things from Hannants.  Anything else the postage is excessive.
I'm waiting for the local stores to get some Stollys from the distributor.  I think they are shipping them by kayak.

We'll know when they have achieved that because the very next day tariffs on India will be lowered...

Oh I get that: I just mean that it'll give you a sense of what's available. I dare say a distributor nearer to you will have the same things as well.

I wonder if part of it's down to getting rid of stock and decisions made by the previous management. I know on the train side of things that there seems to have been a bit of a sea-change with attitude towards communication and taking on board advice, answering questions and acknowledging mistakes. Not something that happened with a certain SK in charge I believe.

Could be partly down to not reading the markets right, clearing stock space or getting rid of older models that have now been surpassed by other companies (see the IBG Spitfire and Arma Hobby Hurricanes).

That said, I thought that out of all the companies under the Hornby banner, Airfix regularly returned a profit compared to the others?

The thing is I'm seeing a lot of kits from manufacturers like Hasegawa, Tamiya, Revell, & the like, hitting the shelves here in Aus at relatively cheap prices - the whole gamut including aircraft, armour, cars, etc.

This month I've been getting a constant stream of emails from Hornby and Airfix. They've had my email address on record for a long time but the amount of spam I'm getting now could feed a US Army platoon!

A marketing push like this suggests that they *really* want to get sales moving.

THE VINTAGE CLASSICS PUMA AND JAGUAR ARE NOW IN STOCK.  <_<  <_<  <_<

I have just ordered two and one respectively, plus another EE Lightning (I have more conversion sets than I can reasonably apply to the ones I've got) and another Gladiator (for... reasons). With the £15 off orders over £75 offer, the club discount, and my saved Hobby Reward points, that little lot stands me at £60, or about £12 each.

The kayak has finally arrived on the Fatal Shore.
I got an e-mail today from the city HS telling me they had Stollys in stock.  $AU 77 each.
An order has been placed.
If they are true to form I should have had a delivery by this time next week.
