I go along with that too Chris, and I always edit my replies down to the relevant part.

It takes up space on the server too, I'm sure, and we've had a few problems on that subject previously.

PRECISELY!  :banghead:

Rmour has it that they're going to do a Wasp - in 1/48th... :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

Having fiddled with the 1/72nd Scout, believe me, a Wasp in 1/48th would be a much easier build.

Quote from: Weaver on September 08, 2025, 11:58:28 PMI wonder what the modelling scene is like in India? I mean, if that's where they're being made...

As far as I know it's fairly robust. When ARC was active there were a lot of Indian modelers posting. And I heard last year that India is projected to have the world's largest 'middle class' economy in just a few years, which would mean more sales. Keeps my hopes up for a Marut model.

I got an email from Jadlam Models yesterday. Yet another Airfix clear out, this time with up to 40% off!

As usual though, there's nothing I want! 😉🤣

Fujimi already did a 1/48 Wasp, albeit in the 70s IIRC.

They did indeed, although there seems to be confusion over it being 1/48th or 1/50th: https://www.scalemates.com/search.php?fkSECTION%5B%5D=All&q=fujimi+wasp

It's 1/50th but sold as 1/48th when AHM brought it over to the States and
it's been marketed as 1/48th ever since. AHM did it with the majority of the
Fujimi kits they sold in the US, 1/70 became 1/72 and 1/50 became 1/48.

Yeah, close enough for most of us. Certainly easier to work with than 1/72, especially decalling. I really want to do that RNLI Wasp/Scout idea that I started a few years ago before frustration at it's teensiness took hold.

I might actually have one of those Fujimi Wasps in The Loft. Goodness knows why I would have bought it, maybe I thought it was 1/72 but the box is pretty large.

You could probably get a whole squadron of 1/72 Wasps in the Fujimi box

You see, I always find big decals harder to work with than small ones...

New bundle from Airfix, the "Back To School" bundle:

1 x 1/72nd Gnat T.1
1 x 1/72nd Jet Provost T.3/T.4
1 x 1/72nd Tiger Moth

All for £24.99, when the RRP for buying them all separately would be £35.97, so that's a 30% discount.

Not a bad wee bundle but, my own personal "Back to School" bundle would include at least:
Harrier T. 2/T.4
Jaguar T. 2
Meteor  T. 7
Lightning T. 4/T.5
Canberra T. 4
Hunter T. 7
JP 5.
All of course in the one true 1/72 scale! 😉😂

No harm in fantasies I guess! I like the "bundle" idea though especially when Airfix tell you what's in it. I think the "Mystery Bundles" though are a real pig in a poke. That's obviously just a personal view but, I've been burned twice before, ending up with 8 out of 10 kits I didn't want.
My fault of course for buying the the damned things but, I won't be buying any more Mystery bundles! 😉.

I'll probably wait until the Gnat and JP inevitably appear in the Aldi/ Lidl festive bargains at £5.99 each before buying any more though.
