That looks good. Probably better than the Italeri kit, which was the H.U.5, and the Airfix kit is an H.C.2. I am not sure about the clunky-looking pipework under the nose in the renders; hopefully, it looks better in plastic. The folded rotor is a nice option as well. If I like the first one I buy, I will probably buy more and convert one to an H.U.5. Who knows, the parts may be on the sprues already?

Given the versions in the kit, i can see their other two boxings will likley be later Hu2, in service with the differnt camo schemes and a SAR boxing with the yellow peril.

Would be nice to see them tool a HU5 as both a junglie and a SAR bird, but would need new sprue for the wider cabin windows and the different belly trunking, hopefully see the Junglie with its sponson weapons. HOWEVER a FAA version may not be in the plans with Airfix, due to the above reasons, and of course Airfix not always doing kit that seem obvios to do ( 72nd Javelin, Sea Vixen etc)

Now don't hold me to this because I haven't tried it, but I think you can get Nectar Points for shopping at Airfix's website.

If you go to the Nectar page and sign in, then navigate to the list of retailers, you'll find Hornby on there. Click on it, then click on the link through to Hornby's website. From there, you can swap to Airfix in the top left hand corner. Then when you've placed an order, you should get an e-mail from Nectar if it's worked.

I WILL be buying a Wessex when they come in, so I'll get  chance to try it then, although I might not get many Nectar points since I've got a fair number of Hobby Reward Points saved up to spend on it. It'll be interesting to see if the Nectar Points are based on the whole value of the sale (i.e. £25) or just the amount of actualy money that changes hands (about £18 IIRC).

Does anyone know whether these Airfix Club offers are available also outside of the UK? Given the current trade agreement situation, there are 30% tariffs on everything I try to buy from the island, which is hugely annoying!

I presume the reduced prices apply to all Club members wherever they are, but any tarrifs will still apply since they're outside Airfix's control.

They sent me an e-mail on the 11th saying the Club sale was "in it's final week", so although it's still up on the site now, I expect it will disappear before very long.

Well the Airfix Clun membership is open for non UK members and indeed is cheaper at £15 compared to £35. However non UK members don't get the "Red Box" as part of their membership but can buy it for £25. I assume that might have something to do with Customs authorities world wide ?

Might be worth an e-mail to them ?

Airfix just sent me an e-mail saying that the Club members sale will now end on Friday 22nd August.

A huge surprise. Make the most of it!  I fully expect the prize pickings for the 2026 range to go, once again, to the 1/48 mafia.

Okay, the Airfix Club members sale is now officially over.

They do, however, have triple Hobby Reward points over the bank holiday weekend. That's effectively 30p in "cashback" for every £1.00 you spend.

That kit must be one, if not the only one, of any kit that comes with a Uruguayan scheme out of the box!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
