Of course! ;D

I'm holding off in hope of a HAR.2 boxing, or at least a conversion set.

Conversions for the Italeri one might work too.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Beat me to it. I want one of the Wessex kits as well (at £24.99!).

I presume that the appearance of this article means that the release of the kit is imminent.

Air Graphics do the weapons platforms (can't call them "wings") that held rockets and/or AS.11/12 missiles underneath and a pair of machine-guns on top. AFAIK these were only used by Navy HU.5s (which were practically identical to the HC.2), so fitting them to the latter would be a subtle What If. They also do the GEC Heli-Tele surveillance system used on AAC Lynxes in Northern Ireland: putting that on an RAF Wessex would be another subtle What If, since RAF HC.2s were also used in the province.

I think we can count on the yellow peril appearing as new boxing in the next year or so, the unknown aspect is if Airfix will do the Royal Navy variants ?

Airfix don't usually go down the multiple variants road, but you never know. The Italeri kit still holds up well and you can get most of the RN variants out of it. Between the two kits, it should be possible to do most of the major variants.

According to the article, the layout of the parts makes the author suspect that Airfix are planning other variants, but he doesn't go into details.

Airfix have done that before, made it possible to produce another variant from a set of moulds, then failed to deliver.

I suppose it depends on how well the first release sells. It's like trying to start a movie franchise: if the first one's a flop at the box office, the rest never get made.
