Had to dig the beast out to check that;

It's just darker (EDSG-ish) styrene - makes it awkward to do one powered down.
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!

For sure, an opening for a forward thinking resin moulding supplier maybe......................  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I would like to see the following group builds:
Gerry Anderson
The Great War
Air Races
Surface Skimmers
Don't let ageing get you down, it's too hard to get back up

Surface skimming vehicles? Skimming the surface of Mars? Skimming the many different layers of Saturn? It would be easy to get all sci fi on this one!

A drone defined as a remotely piloted vehicle (Air/Sea/Land). So "piloted", not an independent AI vehicle!
From all ages, on earth or in space or on other worlds

So an autonomous system (such as Global Hawk in certain modes) would be out of scope?  Asking having given the suggestion further thought, not out of devilment.

Perhaps unmanned, meaning no men on board. This could, of course, be twisted in delightful manners. Womanners.  Childners.  Alienners?

We might need to include a caveat of guided? Otherwise any missile or rocket.

Preguided/programmed vs. active guidance.

I am really overthinking this.

Korea was 75 years ago, and I've done a couple subjects for that theme for a group build on FSM.

Mermaids/Merman - something that isn't normally waterborne gets wet.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

I could surely think of something Gerry Andersonish. People do it here sometimes without really trying!
Trashcanistan kind of fits with the empty the parts box challenge. Trashcanistan's favorite camo is rust so stain the ground rusty brown for weathering.

Joe C-P - not overthinking the 'unmanned' thing at all.  Important there's clarity of what's in scope in any GB.

So for an unmanned GB a look at https://skybrary.aero/articles/unmanned-aerial-systems-uas gives definite, authoritative definitions.

And https://skybrary.aero/sites/default/files/bookshelf/3202.pdf is the bible as far as definitions are concerned.

I am withdrawing the idea. At the very least I am not going to be moderating this if people are starting this kind of discussions.........

I have a new idea: The rules discussion group build. The idea is not to actually build something but to argue about the rules for three months. And no, I am not moderating that one

The Korean War has been suggested by Glenn but it seems a popular subject.

What about a terrible model kit manufacturer, either modify the build with aftermarket products, spare parts or build it straight out of the box.

Forward swept wings or forward swing-wings on aircraft.

Twin-fins with twin tail booms. There's quite a lot of aircraft, concepts and whiffs to build on this subject.

Repurposed ships or watercraft. Either for military purposes or commercial users. For example the two paddle steamers that were converted into aircraft carrier training vessels for the US Navy during WW2.

Define a terrible kit ? One man's meat etc. As for a maunufacturer ? We'd get sued.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I was thinking Mach2 for the imperfections.
I'll rephrase the suggestion to building a Mach2 kit of your choice, either straight out of the box with a bit of filler/putty or using aftermarket products which can include spare parts.

Yes, but we lack your infinite wisdom and unending patience.

So, what about a "no-rule" group build? Everyone gets to build what they want. Oh, wait, that is what the forum outside the Group Builds is all about, isn't it?
