Based on current chatter here, Hovercraft!  I was kind of obsessed With them as a kid and could easily get there again.  And we could all compare notes on how to model the skirts!

I didn't even KNOW about it until I saw it on Scalemates. 

At 1/35 that's got to be quite large, and I rather like the idea of it, but I bet it's pricey. I'm not even sure they sell it in the UK...................

As long as a limited amount of surface piercing is allowed as I would like to try to scratchbuild a hydroplane.
