Empty the junk box GB. Everything left over from previous builds including junked out stuff from long ago. Anything left in the spares box is eligible.

Long abandoned projects?  Those models that were put away for one reason or another short of completion.  Get the darn things finished!

On the basis that Chris wants the widest appeal possible,  how about  "DESERT"  This would permit sand crawlers, diamond harvesting machines from the Namib, Antarctic vehicles of any and all types, Trans-Gobi racers, the solar powered aircraft of the Tanami (1) region  as well as the more mundane LRDG and SAS trucks and the Kaokoveld (2) or  Atacama(3) lifeboats.   Then there are machines for travelling on or over the Martian surface.......If you want something totally off the wall, how about a 1920's desert liner (4) or a modern equivalent?

as the Luft'46 theme turns 80 this year, why not? there have been a lot of new Luft46 themed kits the last few years,

Out of Africa GB II
i remember when i first joined this forum, we had an african themed GB, why not revisit this old idea?

Gerry Anderson GB
has been proposed a few times here already.

Airliners GB
build an already existing airliner as a WHIF, or convert a military transport or bomber into a passenger aircraft.

Or a passenger liner to a bomber.

So would a suggestion be "Civilian to Military" ?  Take a subject that was designed, built and used purely for civilian purposes and then converted for military use ?

I was just thinking about converting things both directions. The Lockheed Ventura to a bomber was successful. Many of those proposals were not.

Swords into Ploughshares/Ploughshares into Swords, then?  I'd support that, also the 'Overlord', 'ANZAC' 'Drone' and 'Air Racers' GB ideas.

My own suggestions:
- Operation Unthinkable (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Unthinkable)
- Search and Rescue (anything to do with search and rescue - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_and_rescue)
- The American War of Independence Goes the Other Way (the Colonies remain British colonies - The Charge of the Light Brigade meets The Battle of Little Big Horn, Morris Motors buys out Ford, Lockheed is still spelt 'Loughead', etc)

This includes any Commonwealth country or other countries that took part in the conflict. Machinery, vehicles, artillery, ships and aircraft used or might have been considered using during the Emergency.

Could include the Indonesian Confrontation 1963 to 1966 ? Your call.
Yes it could.

A drone defined as a remotely piloted vehicle (Air/Sea/Land). So "piloted", not an independent AI vehicle!
From all ages, on earth or in space or on other worlds

So an autonomous system (such as Global Hawk in certain modes) would be out of scope?  Asking having given the suggestion further thought, not out of devilment.

The only problem with this is that one of the standard rules of all GB's has been that you must start from a clean sheer so to speak. This makes it a level playing field for all concerned.

We did try something like this a couple of years ago https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?board=223.0 and there's no reason we couldn't again if there was enough support. However I feel it should be outside of the normal GB structure ?

Right what I've done is kept Spey Phantoms Airliners suggestion separate as it is specificaly about civilan types, and then inlcluded Swords into Ploughshares/Ploughshares into Swords as a separate suggestion. Hope that fits ?

Hitch hiker GB

Enter an object that employs a hitch-hiker or piggy-back concept of two distinct objects: mother-ship, parasites, launchers, range extenders, Mistel.... would not include common weapon stores, cargo, or transport (such as car ferries, car-carriers, aircraft carrier, a helicopter on a yacht), but the mating of two distinct, semi-independent, vehicles to meet certain objectives.
