That would make a better themed build than group build.

Whatever helps get something completed. I've got a 1/48th scale Pucara that I made wooden molds for and vac formed myself at least 30 if not 40 years ago. I need an incentive to finish it.
I know we all have something that's been laying around for years so participation should 100%.
Except for one guy from my club who says he builds only one kit at a time. I don't think anyone believes him!

Not a rip-roaring success IMHO, at least not in the format we went with.

Could do just engines, the power unit behind the car, boat, aircraft, vehicle, submarine, rocket. The detailing will be beyond anything that I can possibly provide.

Oldest kit on the Shelf of Doom or the kit that's been on that shelf for the longest amount of time ?

I'd say both but in the light of the review of the FIGB GB it seems to be difficult to get people to finish things they quit working on a long time ago.

It IS, because once the mojo for that particular model has gone you need something special to re-ignite it, and just the existence of a GB may not be enough. I've recently re-started two of mine that were on the Shelf of Doom, but I have very little idea why I felt able to carry on with them.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

It's only recently that I have been pairing up started builds with photos of what the finished project should look like or they get recycled usually kitbashed on something currently on the shelf.

Or just the sheer procrastination thing... plenty of other Shiny! New Stuff to build, and suddenly it's 20+ years since you (I...) last worked on it.  :banghead:

As things stand I'll be running the first Poll next week, which will enable me to get things sorted before I disappear on my travels for a couple of weeks in early June.

And no people I will still be keeping an eye on the Forumn

Just a random thought. A minimum change whiff GB. Almost OOB with recognizable small changes. Or maximum change whiff GB that hardly resembles the original. Two different GBs, not two things at the same time.
Just something I thought of just now. Maybe not completely thought out.

All being well I'll sort out the first round of voting tomorrow afternoon - Monday 25th UK time.

I've bowed out of doing GBs, but as someone who was instrumental in advocating for the FIGB, let me just add this for the sake of information:

The entire point of the FIGB was to give people an incentive to finish stalled builds, because the GB system, with it's "no part-started builds" rule, actually disincentivises them. Once a build is stalled it's automatically ineligible for a normal GB, and therefore new GB builds (with deadlines), will always push it off the top of the build queue. The FIGB was supposed to give these builds a second chance by introducing an incentive to finish them. This obviously required a different structure and rules from a normal GB, so it shouldn't be surpising that participation was limited when the format was new and unfamiliar.

EDIT: For the avoidance of doubt or upset, I'm not trying to get involved in the GB process again, or start some sort of fight. I just saw a piece of information that was missing, and now it's not. That's all.
