Quote from: chrisonord on May 13, 2026, 03:06:47 PMI got it from Lost British projects on Facebook, they do a lot of interesting stuff in any scale you want. It's going to need a lot of work, and it doesn't have a clear canopy unfortunately, and it is quite textured, hence the lots of work. I was advised to get some 3D print coating epoxy resin which will smooth it all out, as sanding can cause problems.

Hicote do filler primer, about £7 a can. It's decent stuff, I used it on the Contrail Ju 390. Try your nearest branch of The Range or any automotive supply shop as the latter will usually carry some Hicote paints.  Failing that, get several cans of really cheap primer from Poundland, built it up and sand back.
cheers Lee /Kit. I already have some of the black AK interactive stuff, so I will try that, failing that I will get some of the hicote stuff, cheers

Another unexpected ev!lbay win: an MPM 1:72 Douglas A-20G (with glass nose) for just 10,-.
Again with no real plan, but I consider a RAF Coastal Command aircraft with rockets against submarines in the Channel.

It sure is good, I've been using it since Halfords did their 'upgrade', and the Hycote stuff is a little bit pricier than Halfords was, but now it's cheaper, per volume anyway.

The standard Halfords cans have 330ml, whereas the same size Hicote ones are 400ml.  I can't recommend the Hicote paints highly enough.

From Spruefinders.  I thought about one of these when they first came out but procrastinated and then the 1/24 ones were not around, just the 1/35.

Admiral Cabriolet by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

Multipiece body with chrome parts and rubber tyres.  It needs to be lower over whitewalls.  Lose the bumpers, roll the pans.  Or maybe a more contemporary Street Rod with Big wheels/thin tyres and a modern V8.

The Praga has some heft to it but it looks really good, despite a broken mud guard. Only about a dozen pieces in total & maybe 6 decals. It may get built sooner, rather than later.

The Metallic Details Bucc landing gear is all 3D printed & looks way better than I imagined - I just hope it's strong enough to hold the builds off the ground once built.

While going through The Loft in my old house the other weekend, I filled up a large box (like a 4 ft cube....) with various kits that were lying about the place. I've only just got to check the stuff that's in the box, and one is something I'd forgotten about, and started AEONS ago, and I've mentioned it on here a few times too.

The much sought after 'Holy Grail' of 1/144 scale modellers, the Otaki C-5 Galaxy kit!  ;D

I seem to have glued the fuselage, and the wings, but not joined them yet, and then just left it, no idea why. As I'm doing my RAF C-133C Durham right now my thoughts are turning to an RAF Galaxy, with RB-211 engines of course, but I'm trying to imagine what the RAF would have called it. As it would have to have a city or town name, preferably one that exists in both countries, 'Birmingham' comes to mind, except it would always end up being called a 'Brum' in the real world.  ;D
