QuoteI dunno, the Flowers were pretty small ships ... Maybe a new shed, rather than a whole house.  ;)  ;D

That was Old Wombat in the 2025 Stash folder, which won't work as it's now 2026.....

You're not kidding, I thought it was the wrong scale when I opened the box! It makes my Lord Clive look like a supertanker, and that's not all that big in warship terms.

Flower class were described by Nicholas Monserrat (who served on them)  as "Suitable only for use on the River Thames, upstream of Teddington Lock"

Dad served on Flower's for a bit, his one memory of them were "that they wet"

He then moved onto sometning smaller, a sloop in the Indian Ocean doing convoy escort between the West Coast of the Sub-Continent and South and East Africa. Fond memories of that ship.

I'll post a pick of the Amchusa's hull against the Lord Clive in that thread later on, the Anchusa looks TINY!

The Wooksta!

Snaffled an Alleycat Mosquito NF.XII/XIII conversion from Models for Sale on eBay.  If it was Alleycat directly, I'd avoid them like the plague.

Talking of Flower class ships ,,my ol mate Steve (RIP) gave me his Matchbox Flower class Corvette a couple of yrs ago as a bday gift ..he didn't build it but who ever did painted everything first so even if you look at this with a slight glance parts fall off  :banghead:
And many many parts have now fallen off
At some point i've going to strip it completely and repaint it .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

The 1/72 one?  As a kid I wanted one of them nearly as much as I wanted a Monogram B-36.  I guess to young me bigger was better.

Today I got some paint and two trucks in different scales from BNA Modelworld.
This one...
Chevrolet 15 CWT by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr
...is going to be part of my long planned "Lost World" diorama.  Being an Italeri kit the wheels & tyres are poor.
And this one...
URAL-375D by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr
...is going to be doing this.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Old Wombat

Those little ICM trucks are nice builds!

Built one for my "Wildlife Heritage Intervention Fund" C-119T diorama (from the parts of two kits - can't remember what happened to the rest of the kit parts, but they were capable of being combined into a full model).
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!

Yep ,,that be the bugga matey .. living in a place without a huge amount of space ,,this takes up good chunk of it
Ok it's not THAT big but mate she's got some size to her ,,detail wise ,,it's not great but it's old as the hills so thats to be expected ,,the cool factor tho is there for sure  ;D

The Chaos

The Wooksta!

The Alleycat Mosquito NF.XII/XIII nose I ordered from Models for Sale arrived this morning.  Two days!  If it had been from Alleycat direct, I'd be lucky to have seen it within six months.  And bearing in mind the resin piece is about the size of your average Lego basic brick, the box it came in is mahoosive in comparison.

It will be taking a bath in silicone. Purely for personal use, you understand...

I'd be interested in your opinion of the Eduard "Hybrid" Avia Mr Chaos as that's the one with the 3D parts ?

The pair of Tamiya Mosquito FB.VIs I ordered a week ago have arrived.  I don't know what they'll be, because I have that much in mind.
