I can relate.. I might have bought an Italeri Tornado IDS for about 3 EUR under similar circumstances, and as I already have two German, two Italian and two British ones, this will have to be Canadian, or Dutch, or something..

While in the 'LHS nearest my old house today, an AZ Seafang kit threw itself into my basket, so of course it'll appear in the Op Downfall GB, hopefully.

Japanese.

The RAF bought the Jaguar followed by the Tornado, so why not have the JASDF buy the Jaguar-in-all-but-name F1/T2 followed by a Japanified definitely-not-a-Tonka?

They could have the German/Italian version without fuel in the fin and add their own"anti-landing craft" missiles to it to emphasise how "defensive" it is...
M-61 Vulcan instead of the two Bk27s.
No terrain-following radar, just a big "anti-landing craft" one made domestically (prettier radome?).
They probably wouldn't appreciate the APU exhausts leaving big black stains on the fin (messes up the anime artwork...) so you might imagine them re-positioning it somewhere else.

An Airfix 1/144 scale SRN4 hovercraft arrived today, so that makes my required three to build a Mk III version.

I've got no excuse now I guess.

It's in a HUGE box, maybe 1.5 times as big as the original version, so I reckon they did that just to get it into a higher price bracket!

Just arrived, Lost British projects P. 1214, in 1/72 scale. Looking like it will need a lot of work, but I will just do bits of it here and there.

I had been wondering about that.  Thanks Kit.

When I get my two original ones back from my old house I'll post a comparison pic, plus ones of the sprues to show the new box doesn't HAVE to be that large...............

Save you the trouble since I've still got the box right here:

The tray part of the box is about 19.5 inches long and 12 inches wide.

1. This is the longest sprue in the tray. It's a about 4 inches shorter than the inside length of the tray:

2. This is the widest sprue in the tray. Many parts are off the sprues, but I believe this still shows the maximum width accurately. It's about 2 inches narrower than the width of the tray:

3. These are the roof panel and the floor plate in the box. The skirt would make the floor panel about 3/4 inch wider all around, but I still think you could fit TWO of the finished models in the tray sideways (not height-wise: the depth is about right):
