Hehehe, so true, the Lighting always looks as if it DID have one at some stage in its gestation!  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Not a Thunderscreech but a Shriek Lightning?
A pair of turboprops stacked up at the back with a complicated transmission system taking drive via a shaft between the pilots legs to a contra rotating prop in the nose.

So EE were given a captured Do 335 and all the technical papers to study and came up with the Shriek Lightning ?

Oooops, sorry. Yes The South Downs Show, but in my defence it is in Southern England. Indeed you can't go that much farther south

Self-care package from BNA Model World today.

Mostly figures, & a few upgrade & detail items but, for some unknown reason, I bought a Special Hobby 1/72 Westland Whirlwind FB Mk.I "Fighter Bomber" [Upgraded Edition 2024] (SH 72201)

It looks very nice in the box, but I still have no idea why I bought it!

And ironically due to finances, mobility and health I need to SHRINK my stash and refocus it. :( Retargeting toward 1/200 WWII-era aircraft, planes from units my grandfather served in and ships and vehicles small enough to make viable "ground targets" for Wings of Glory miniatures wargaming.

Getting that old 1/48 B-24 with a couple pounds of lead in its guts rehomed and turned into something useful to somebody is gonna be sporty...

I hate to be a pedant (no i don't) but yes you can.  You just need to head West.
 ;D

From BNA.  I may be thinking about a "Streets of Da Nang" diorama...

I've all 3 of their boxings, it's one of my favourite aircraft, and have built one. It takes some care and attention but looks nice in the end.

Just arrived from the Ukraine, SovaM EMB P-95B Bandeirulla. Looks nice, and two kits could probably fit in the box. This will be a Honduras air force or navy aircraft, not sure I will use the supplied weaponry or not, I am thinking of swapping the heavy rockets for some zuni pods, and gun pods.

Yeah, but it's not even my scale (1/48), Chris!

And I trimmed that purchase order by quite a bit to make it affordable, but the Wrong-Scale Whirlwind remained!  :o
