Can you call it a battle "field" if it's in space? Surely it's a "battlespace"? Mind you, modern military jargon talks about "battlespace" anyway...

I read right through that, and it made some sort of sense, if it wasn't for words like 'excoriating ' in the middle of the piece.

I've never HEARD if that word before and I'm sure 90% of others won't have either. If you're writing a piece  and about simplifying language, DON'T complicate it!

I've known the word for as long as I can remember. I actually quite like the word "excoriating" & it has a precise meaning which is rather immune to managerial double-speak.
