Captain Canada

Amazon find. There were two different sets to pick from. Less than 20 CDN delivered. Decent enough for me ! Lots of weapons options in the kits as well. I wanted to see the Harrier and the Huey. It's cheaper to buy the whole set than to try and find them individually tho.

Received today

From the BIG yellow H

1 x 1/72 Dream Model DM 720032 KA-52K Russian Navy Carrier-based Helicopter

2 x 14ml Xtracolor X500 Duralumin. I bought two tins as they have a tendency to dry up once opened, just when you need to use them, so one is to be a spare.

From eBay

1 x 1/72 Valom 72032 Bristol Buckingham B.1

I quick 'from the box' review' would be very welcome Trevor. I might get one of them myself, I've had rude thoughts about a Seamew since it was announced..........

You are not the only one!  I think it was Eric Brown who said  "I've a soft spot for the Seamew............it's called the Goodwin Sands!"

Although I assume that these are not precisely the thoughts you have in mind.

Ah, a gentleman of taste and distinction - that's the one I got as well. ;D

I don't know why exactly, but the G8.01 (two-seater) just looks like a Tornado with round intakes, but the G8.02 (single seater) is gorgeous...

I did mention three pages ago that I had a kit of the Seamew arrive.

Yep, very much how i see the G8.01...   i do prefer the fatter nose radome but i think it looks a bit short and that makes it look a bit unbalanced... If the radome was just a bit longer i believe it would look better.
Although i love the look of the whole Mirage fighter family, my favorite variant of the Mirage III is the Belgian Mirage VBA, as are the later Atlas Cheetah C and Kfir C.10 derivatives, exactly because of their noses.

I've built the single seater, and it's typical AZ, builds nice if you take a little care and use a fresh scalpel blade   As for a 2 seater ? Maybe they were having trouble with guidance development so radar guided rockets operated by the back seater ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I've got one of them too, a rather nice kit to my mind.

I keep seeing it in 'RAF Germany Green, like the Lightning F2As, toting a couple of equally green Firestreaks.

The only issue (with mine at least) was that the clear parts for the single seater are not included, only the two-seater. So I used the windscreen (which is not correct for the single seater, nevermind) and formed some PETG into an open canopy.

I seem to be on a "substitute purchases" kick at the moment...

Went into HMV yesterday looking for the second series of Wednesday on DVD. Discovered that it isn't out yet, so I bought a £20 Led Zeppelin T-shirt, that I absolutely don't need, instead.

Today, went tool-shopping and didn't find what I wanted, so since I was passing, I dropped in on my last local independent model shop "just for a look around". Somehow a Valom Avro 618 "Ten" followed me home, accompanied by a pack of PECO Sky & Clouds background sheets.

The Avro 618 Ten was a Fokker F.VIIb/3m trimotor built under licence. It called out to me because it's Avro, but the instruction sheet also remined me that they were used in the Spanish Civil War as improvised bombers, so now I'm thinking about a what-if gunship, with a couple of side-firing MGs, in Republican colours.

The PECO sheets will be useful to make a photography set for my models. There's three sheets and they're each 800mm x 333mm so decently large. Intended for model railway layouts, of course,
