I had a gift card burning a hole in my pocket so I picked this up at my LHS. It's a Hobby Boss M706 Commando Car in 1:35. It's got wheels so at least I won't have to put together 500 track link parts!

Those are nice kits and go together well.

Quote from: chrisonord on March 18, 2026, 09:58:15 AMNo, I spoke to someone from Special hobby who, they said deal with MPM kits, and they said they were not going to be re-releasing it. Bugger.

That's a shame. It was certainly not the easiest of builds, but it was still a nice kit.

Meanwhile ordered on Monday via the Big H, this arrived yesterday.

If you want the build to last through the ages, may I suggest getting a set of resin replacement wheels, the vinyl ones "melt" over time (or used to).

Thanks for the suggestion! I was looking at the sagged wheels and maybe some interior parts. If the hatches are open you can see quite a bit of the interior. Advanced Modelers Syndrome is creeping in.

Gondor

Received from eBay today

Lifecolour, Shell Case, Perfect Metal - Set 1

I now have a storage problem as they won't all fit into my drawer of Lifecolour paints. Looks like I need to buy another drawer.  :banghead:

I built the Special Hobby one when it first came out. I'm not sure I've seen another example built or boxed ??

I can guess that OGL has one in his stash, but then again so do I. You don't see them very often that's for sure though.

You would be correct..... just the one thou.

It's got a pretty comprehensive interior in the box - specially with what you can see through the hatches.

Thanks for the tip on the wheels, Womby.

The Wooksta!

An Airfix Val just arrived and i's got me scratching me heed, as I've not bought one on fleabay and no one is sending me one as far as I know.

Having checked it against the plans, the fuselage could be a decent basis for the Nomad engined Firecrest, but so's a Novo Skua, and with that I get to use the wings for an Airspeed AS56 too.  Hmm.

Most confuzles...

Mate it with a Harvard, add either a Taurus or (better still) a Twin Wasp to make a CAC Alternative Wirraway'!

I recently subscribed to Airfix magazine (I thought I'd do my bit to support the printed medium), and today unexpectedly received a 1/72 Spitfire Mk.IXc Limited Edition (apparently) starter pack. The paintbrush is welcome since there's always need for one in new condition, and free glue will never be turned down. Not sure about the paint though...

I might actually build it too at some point, but there's no rush.

I can let you have a really good 3D resin cockpit interior for it.  ;D  ;)

Ah, it's a PR1C cockpit and your Spitfire is a Mk IX, but would anyone REALLY notice the differences?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
