There are further problems with the phone which means more time at the bench.

The Seafire XV is now virtually complete with the addition of two turned brass gun barrels. Just touch up jobs need doing on the paint and a small amount of weathering.

The MB12 also needs the gun barrels fitted and small tiding up jobs done.

I have also deep dived into the darkest recesses of completed models to see if any can be added to the 'give an old kit a new home' bag. There are some but also several models in the basement of doom that can go that way but also some that deserve overhaul.

Will the MB12 debut at SMW?

Speaking of which - and no spoilers, Trev - I wonder what your 'give an old kit a new home' bag contains.  I struck lucky with your cast-off Norseman, will history repeat?

The MB12 staked an early claim to being a SMW model given how colourful it is and the reception it has had already at Brampton and Malvern. I need to add several 20mm cannon..

As for the 'give an old kit a new home' even I am on the look out for a few bits this year including a Canberra fuselage. That Norseman is the stuff of legend. Does it still exist?

What sort of a Canberra fuselage? I may have a few knocking about, of various genres...............
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Any would do as I have a nose and tail lined up for it but don't need the whole fuselage.

I have tidied up the box of doom and such as I want to give, you will Kitbasher see on the relevant stand at SMW.

One of the rebuilds is my first SR177 which belongs to the pile retained for sentimental reasons. The is also a Boeing F8B which needs a new prop and undercart

This year I don't have much of a list for stuff I'll buy. Just an order from Hannants which is liable to just be a couple of quarter scale Spitfire kits and some sundries with most of my budget being spent at the show. Having sold quite a bit of my stash at various shows this year I can concentrate on the models and chatting.

The next job was sorting out the gun barrels on the MB12. This has proved very straightforward. I set of Hurricane IIC gun barrels in quarter scale reduced in length has given me exactly what was needed.

Now the only job that remains is touching up the paint on these models and I am almost model ready for SMW2025 with a week to spare, just one real world U2 model to finish.

This afternoon has been spent breaking up a TR-1 to give me longer wings for my second RAF whiffed U2. It's a lot so old I used Squadron Green Stuff on and was once exhibited at SMW. But the fatal flaw of any U2 is weak undercart IMHO and this one was no different.

That's the order with Hannants placed for SMW. Just a couple of Airfix 1/48 Spitfires and some decal sheets.

Found a mislaid canopy for the RW U-2 i need to finish for Friday. The new gen Airfix/Humbrol acrylics seem very good.

And what to start for my next whiff? I think a far eastern based Twin Otter in FAA markings and on floats is an idea I have put off for too long. lets get busy.

Most of you will have only heard of the real star of this page, George. So here is a recent photo. He is from Erdington and has been with me since he was four months old. He has given me a pass to eat, drink and be merry valid at SMW only. He takes bribes....
