Starting to look the part is my MB12. The filler on the tailfins was done earlier today. I will start filling the wing roots next.

Been on the shelf of doom since early this year is this Kinetic 1/48 F16XL two seater. A bit of a labour of love and it's hard to think this kit along with the single seater is now perhaps ten years old. The kit has some F16XL exclusive parts but there are parts sprues from their original Falcon kits.

Cool! I'll be watching this, as I have an old Monogram XL that's destined for similar treatment, F-16I raised spine and all. Are you looking at something similar?

An F16XL but with the ADF tail and MT ANG markings. I saw some of these F16As many years ago in the Great Falls airport pattern. Getting a full air defense weapons load out.

As a bit of a diversion.....

The Red Dragon I am painting up. Not certain of his ancestry but it's believed to be Welsh.......

Good looking dragon. Is it a kit or 3D print?

Flexible resin or such casting. Easy to work with.

Update for Friday. The F16XL is now on its wheels. A tedious operation was to fill many of the holes for the weapons pylons under the wings. Acrylic putty is very useful for this. The second photo is of the Weserflug P1003/1. A nice very straightforward Lift 46 kit. Which will be finished as a night fighter.

Update on the MB12, which now has a coat of primer on. Glad to have gotten this whiff this far.

Nice work and concept! Most people will think it's an F-82 until they look closely.

Thanks. It's the biggest bit of kit bashing I have done this year.

Will it be British style grey and green camo?

That big fin and rudder gives it all away for the MB5 fan.

But it looks great Trevor, and the tip tanks give it a Northrop Scorpion vibe too!  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Thanks Kit. I have a detailing point to make shortly. I have an F82 etched brass set somewhere and parts of that are going on this model.

The tip tanks are included in the MB6 kit and it would be a shame not to use them.
