I feel your pain mate.
My latest spills have been Tamiya Extra Thin.  It melts any styrene it flows across and removes the print from cutting mats.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

It was very annoying Zenrat.

But....  My record with super glue is checkered.

A drone Hawk and the RAF F104C need little things doing to finish them off for Thornbury next Sunday.

Right now I have my super glue held in the upright position by a large glob of modeling clay. After spilling plastic cement I built bottle holders from plastic plumbing parts.

Nooo!
It's so frustrating when that happens 😱
Hope you finished the models, show pics obligatory!

Not recently,  but I've had more than a few accidents with superglue. I've got a rough spot on my laminate flooring as a permanent reminder.

I've glued myself on several occasions, worst was at work 20 odd years ago. Squeezed a tube and nothing came out, then realised the back had come open and leaked the whole lot, gluing four fingers together.

Added to that I just don't really like working with it, me and the stuff don't see eye to eye. Like some colleagues, there are times you just have to work together in spite of that.

Before superglue WAS superglue we used Eastman 910 adhesive to glue strain gauges onto test car bodies in the mid-60s, and that stuff really was what we call superglue now. It was VERY runny, and we laid the gauge foil, business side up, onto a piece of clear tape, and then dripped the glue onto it with a pipette! Then we carefully spread it over the gauge with a thin polythene blade, picked up the tape and gauge, turned it over and stuck it down onto the car body.

What could go wrong?  ;D

Ruddy EVERYthing could, and often did, and the number of times I managed to glue myself to the gauge, the tape, the pipette and even the car itself, was legion!  :banghead:

No models damaged, which was a surprise.

Thanks everyone for these tales of woe.

I don't feel quite so bad now.  ;D

Spilled a whole bottle of Testors cement once... a long, thin bottle? Whose bright idea was that?!

And I only ever seem to be able to use the first bit of the superglue tube... by the time I get back to it, it's solid and out it goes, to be replaced with another.
To be fair I don't use a lot, but when I want it, I want it.
Thankfully, it's available in the cheap stores, but it's still a waste.

Yeah, they're laughing all the way to the bank!  :banghead:

I've NEVER finished a whole tube/bottle of superglue without it either going solid or the cap becoming molecularly welded to the tube! :(

When you finish applying your superglue to whatever it is you needed to, wipe the nozzle before putting the cap back on and store in an upright position. I do that both at work and at home and manage to finish tube after tube of glue without any problem.

I do ALL that stuff and it still doesn't last.

Definitely store with the nozzle pointing up. I use a lump of modeling clay to hold it.

Early days with my newest whiff... inspired by PR19Kit's Tristang is my Martin Baker MB12. Most of the butchery is done I think and now it is time to put it together. It's two AZ MB6 Ferrets joined up courtesy of an F82 wing centre section and tailplane. Some of the bits of an Airwaves F82 etch brass set will find it's way into construction. Finish will be one of the options from the donor MB6 kits.
