Nice change for them to get thanks, rather than flak...

off work today,  the car needed to be serviced and MOTed, so we were out of area to do it,  after the car was dropped into the Skoda dealer in Cinderford, we went to Gloucester, had a look round the cathedral, and found a hobby shop ( mainly board games and some wargames figures)  but it had some paints so got a can of spray mat varnish,  had a quick look in the local Games workshop ( branded warhammer  )  a couple of things drew our eyes but we wernt convinced we wanted anything, and we can get them just as easily / cheaply locally, and then found that there is a branch of Antics,  ive not seen one in years, and it was well lit, and had a lot of varied stuff, collectable card games at the desk, RC planes, gunpla kits, railway models in multiple scales,, stuff foe scratch building, sheet and stuff, several paints ( tamiya, mr paints at least)  and multiple company's for plastic, planes armour, cars as well.
Also had a meal the the " new inn"   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Inn,_Gloucester   for a read of why this is rather an understatement,  the food was filling, hot, tasty and reasonably priced
The 1:24 Aoshima van kits, the  star Kebab one, and the Fish stand one  i got, ive had a quick look at, they are full of spares, and you get a good slew of extras as well,  like fish boxs, and a 1:24 scale kebab meat  for the rotisary   :o  and the sprues that are for the van have quite a bit of extras,  side windows for a panel van version, hubs and others.  rather impressed for the price, and Mrs SP was happy for me to get them, as they are suitably sideways for things to build.

Hah, the New Inn!  ;D  It's actually the OLDEST in  in the city! I've stayed there a few times, one room was notable as it didn't have a single right angle in the entire place! Even the bed sloped in two directions!

But the food was EXCELLENT, well worth the money.

a small order to one of the wargames company's i use has been placed
http://shop.groundzerogames.co.uk/
they have the traditional end of year deal, where you get freebies added to orders over £40 ( before S&H, tariffs etc)  and usually a discount code for jan of the next year.   I have enjoyed doing spaceships this year so have ordered a few more  ;D

Ive also had a chat with my youngest brother, and wile we are doing cards this year , have found that he hasnt got one of the Bubblegum Crisis packs in his pile of potential, ( we dont use the " stack of shame " round here)  so ive ordered one of the Knight sabres for him

been doing some more on the lighting tower, grey for the base with some orange / black hazard stripes on the corners, and gun metal on the scaffolding
a couple more parts on the warrior, the front light clusters and guards, not gone as well, i think its close to material limits so they look rather thick on the bars for the guards,

Mrs SP had a table at a local Christmas light switch on yesterday, we sold more than we thought we might,  but it means that i have tomorrow off,  i must get to halfords or a local auto paint seller to get some more gloss varnish, and another can of ford ice diamond white., im hoping halfords have it, as the other seller is  not really a walk out to get  :banghead:

i also want to clean up some lead and get them based and undercoated, so i can work on something not tank like after the warrior, wile i do the Chieftain AVRE.

DON'T get Halford's car paint any any more!  :banghead:

They've changed suppliers and the new stuff is JUNK! They don't have the paint's name on the can any more, only a code number. You're meant to look it up with their wonderful in-store computer system but that's junk too, even the people who work there can't make it work.

Find a supplier for HyCote paints as they made the old Halford's and still do, but under their own name.
