the barrel construction continues, fume extractor main body on, just adding the ridges, and the strip at the muzzle is on as well.

A liquid storage tank is together greeblied and attached to a piece of scrap wood for a base,  its bottom is a spray can lid with the top being a chip shop mushy peas container, some lengths of circular sprue for pipes, and some of the 3D print supports to acts as bracing for one, and it looks good

one of the deep range escorts is in sub assembly's on the desk  as well.
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

i think that ive got the barrel together and of sufficient quality,   It looks right compared to the pictures of the Centurion version i have in several different books.  the next step will be a primer coat to test the look in a single colour.

both deep range cruisers are together and the explorer is almost done as well,

ive been gluing some more of the tamiya 1:48 drums and jerry can set as well, happy  in my progress.

will hopefully be able to get some primer on stuff tomorrow, providing it isnt too cold

thats better than the alternative " tight git of a wargamer"  ;D    its also that any king of larger scenery  is either hard to get, or tied to a particular setting a lot of the time.

another 8 ships together and awaiting undercoat
i have 3 more of the Japanese ships to do, but that is probably tomorrow now.  hopefully reasonably early, then i can get some spray painting done if it warms up a bit, (i hope it does)  i will also start on road wheel assembly for the AVRE, as thats sub assembly's that are easy to re-box without trouble if i need to.

as its warmed up a bit outside, i have had a quick spray primer, ships are done, scenery piece is done,   almost forgot to do the barrel DOH!   just remembered it and got it done as well. phew.

now to just let them all dry and try not to get to out my tree on the solvents fumes as they do so

been out for a meal with Mrs SP,  ( Bella Pasta here in the UK has a pasta meal for £5 offer at the moment   )  and as its on the same retail park as out local hobby craft we had a look,  the model section has moved again! and the offering was very poor,  i have no idea who the buyer is but they seem to be flailing round a bit, and their was no evidence of sale prices on the kits....  :banghead:   What i did get was a realyusefull box long enough to get a 1:48 TSR2 into  i can probably get 2 on a level and 2 or 3 levels of them .  i may have to build another soon,  but i does mean that the NASA version can be taken to shows, if the weather isnt perfect.

in other areas ive got the roadwheets and front idlers for the AVRE  together, and the spaceships are being inked and drybrushed to pull them together and along.

PR19_Kit

Hobbycraft branches went silly over Christmas, prioritising simple 'Kits for Kids for Christmas' and parked all the good stuff elsewhere in their storerooms I expect. The only trouble is, they HAVEN'T put it back as it was before!  :banghead:  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

having done some snow clearance on the drive and back patio, I am painting small spaceships,  base colour is on all 4 different types  basic grey for the UNSC  trio,  grew with a heavy blue black ink wash for the NAC 3 and the tanker, ford ice diamond top and citadel ultramarines blue unders for the Japanese, and ice diamond with lots of green and blue ink for the indi freighter.
The more interface  craft is done " Dove 2"  above for more info see dove one
the Indi freighter " Lilly" is done with a couple of gold areas, some metallic blue for sensors and black for windows
the gold for sensors is on the Japanese 6,  and the big solar panels / sensor array petals on the UN deep range explorer.  with the size of the larger ships it become more an exercise in getting the details the same on the class, than on running wild.  I have time to enjoy them.

both the Destroyers are now done, Kawakaze ( wind on the river) and  Suzukaze ( cool breeze of summer) giving 10 of the same class
the light cruiser i got as a freebie is now Abukuma, with 5 other names from that design batch for using
the heavy cruisers have been names Atago, Chokai and Maya  giving one more name of that build and 4 for the previous group  (like cavalry im counting these as 2 figures per as they came in 4 parts, main body 2 engine pods and bridge)
the large pipe stack and the large liquid tank are also both done  ( although all will be varnished tomorrow, they are all finished as far as assembly / paint / and naming )

11 figures   2 pieces of scenery.

ive had a productive week
