a couple more bits on the warrior, im starting to get to the end
ive been assembling some of the 1:48 drums from the tamiys bits set, as a distraction as i go, just to keep busy.
but hopefully tomorrow my GZG order will arrive.   ;D

down to the last half dozen or so parts on the warrior, after that itll be a quick swish with the paint brush
The kit has been a little more work than id wanted, BUT not so much i think its bad, i have said above i think that some parts are operating at the limits of the material,  and to keep scale and not have to use etch or 3D prints, the designers and engineers have done the best they can.  so in general its a

probably going to be the AVRE Chieftain next, its hopefully not too much of a job on the conversion, as i know the base kits a good one, its just my add ons that i have to work.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

i will be adding the 2 other seasonally relevant tracks ( if i can find them, on the 25th  ;D   )

i also realised yesterday afternoon that i have no white spray paint.... which is rather a " drat" moment as i use it for the 1st paint colour on any Berlin stuff as im inherently lazy  :banghead:   i may well be able to pick up a can on the way home from work tomorrow, as oddly enough the roads are rather quieter than normal, whod have thunk it  :o

ive read through the post Telford IPMS mag,  it lasted 20 or 30 mins wile i was at work today,  not a lot to draw me, the show and competition pics are really too small for any real observation,  and the IPMS site still dosnt have any pics up from this year.

i have started getting the demo gun together for the AVRE,   this will be done before anything else, as if i cant get it looking right, i wont do the rest of the tank, i can re box and keep the kit for when i can get it correct      ( re-reads what ive just typed,  yes i think it reads ok)

I also, in a fit of efficiency and enthusiasm, have got 5 ballistic beach babes  painted   https://www.wargamesfoundry.com/collections/street-violence/products/sv052-ballistic-beach-babes

Yup, it does read ok

Must admit I used to hate going to work and coming home in the dark. I'm still up before daylight, but at least I don't have to go out

Steel Penguin

the main barrel has been cut to length,  this is well and good
i have used some brass tube  the advantage being that i have some slightly larger dia tube that i can cut down for the fume extractor    except the fume extractor on a 165mm demo gun is a chunky ole thing   https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:FV4003_Centurion_AVRE_165_%E2%80%9C11_BA_46%E2%80%9D_%2845384689342%29.jpg
see above link
so im having to add  another piece of plastic tube to fatten it up, but this is too wide so im having to cut and file out a chunk,   :banghead:    then ill have to add some micro strip to the ends to give end ridge to it, and a small piece to the end of the barrel.

so im doing other stuff in between.
another large pipe stack  6 tube base, then a 5 tube layer and the at a diagonal across the top a 2 layer with a single piece  set, it will break up line of sight and be a fairly good linear check anywhere it is placed, and give a builders yard / construction site vibe to any areas as well
ive also had a look and shuffle through the full thrust UNSC ships i got in dec 25, ive taken 2 of the 4 box cargo  pods from the fleet tender http://shop.groundzerogames.co.uk/full-thrust-starships/unsc/ft-1116.html    and will add one to each of the  River class HEAVY CRUISER  i got to give a ER / Deep range  variant, to ride with the slowly growing Visionary class DEEP-RANGE EXPLORER  http://shop.groundzerogames.co.uk/full-thrust-starships/unsc/ft-1115.html  set of ships i seem to be slowly building up  ;D    i will have to remember to  add another tander hull to the next order so i can have one of the pod sets off of it to get 2 hulls with 2 sets of pods.

i want to keep some mojo forward momentum  so i figure this will help.

Im other news, Mrs SP had a rather " funny" sideways idea  today,  when she mentioned that the Kebab van i have really needed a set of custom decals   to declare it the " Donner Party Kebab " van  and that id need to do a companion vehicle the " Sweeny Todd Pie" van.  She isnt certain where the idea came from , ( neither am i to be honest)  but it would raze a few eye brows, amongst those who understand     I may have to add a "soylet green " snack van to the list as well,
