Just to prove I'm not just dreaming of progress, but am making some, here's my AZ Me 109 H-1 after first coat of primer.

Gone together very well, as all their 109's do, and just had a few smears of PPP.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Ta  ;D  ;D

Anyway while the primer's drying I started looking at the Hawk H-75 and cleaning the major parts up. She'll be my next project - touch wood.

Also had some thoughts on the Fw 187. The Italians built a couple of single seat, twin engined fighters (the Ro 57 was one example) and none were that successful. So thinking of building it as a single seat version (as it was origionaly designed) sold to the Italian's circa 1941.

The 109 now has 2/3rds of its main colour scheme done and I've done some sub assembling og the Arma Hobby H-75 which I have to admit is going together rather well

Of for a week now.

Visiting Family is good, but they do know how to Push Your Buttons... because they know where they are, of course...  ;)

Mossie

Good to have a slammer kit Chris. Enjoy the break.

Every Saurday morning I peruse Hannants' New Arrivals in 1/72 just to see if there is anything that urgently requires opening my wallet, and I'm quite often amazed by the amount of wargames figure sets etc that are now available, nothing like it back in my day. Anyway this morning these 2 sets struck a chord for some reason. Now whilst there is some historical evidence for the use of both of these anti-elephant weapons I'm not sure the porker is of the correct species. Looks far to much like a modern "factory farm" animal to me

Much better! Thank you!

Obviously the Romans didn't have to deal with an ancient version of PETA or the various SPCAs.  ;)

No, but it does mean that assuming you win the battle then the BBQ is is all ready for the commanding general  ;)

Anyway made some progress over the last few days on both the 109 and the H-75. The former nw has its paint scheme and the fiddly painting is next, meanwhle I've commenced the interior painting for the H-75.

Roman epicures enjoyed something called a"Trojan Hog"      A sucking pig, spit roast, but before serving; hot sausages  crammed into the body cavity and then sewn in.    When it was carved at table, the sausages gushed out looking like viscera.

The novelist Lindsey Davis (whose works are well worth reading)  has a rather  good description in her book  "Nemesis"  https://lindseydavis.co.uk/
