I forgot to mention... about a week ago a C-130 Hercules was flying around in circles over Lawton.  Haven't seen any around in awhile. I wonder what they were up to.

Looking for a railroad station so they could figure out where they were?  ;D

#4397
A radial engined low wing monoplane.  Very noisy so probably one of the Warbirds from Tyabb.
Too far away to positively identify (the bins were in the house - I was in the shed) but from the shape of the rudder possibly a CAC Wirraway.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

NARSES2

A Hawk of some kind (the feathered kind). Meant the local pigeons were absent for most of the morning.  ;D

When we had offices in Croydon the building site next door was suspended while a couple of Peregrines brought their young up so it's not that unusual to see birds of prey (the smaller ones) in London.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

NARSES2

Whilst waiting for my bus up CP Parade an Embraer something or other climbing up out from London City. The sky was so clear and blue today it shone like a jewel.

EVERYTHING!  :o

It was so clear this morning that I could see the entire 'Morning Rush' out of Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted as they all headed for the USA. There must have been 20 contrails in sight at the same time, maybe a third were 747-400s, the rest 777s, 767s or A330s. If it's like this tomorrow I'll get the camera out, so long as it's not cold enough to fog the lens.

Saw three and then another Hawk 127s over the beaches near my home.
How to reduce carbon emissions - Tip #1 - Walk to the Bar for drinks.

NARSES2

Another beautifully clear day and an odd sight. A rather large crow leaving a contrail  :o

A flying crow managed to get in such a position as to make it look as though it was responsible for a very long contrail high in the sky. Really was a "what the" moment and one I wish I'd had my camera handy for  ;D

So that's what spreads the chemtrails...

I've always liked the idea that if an alien race were visiting it would be more fun if they were very small, using insects and birds etc mimic tech to observe us ;D

I already know that mosquitos can D-jump...watch them and they suddenly flip out of existence only to reappear elsewhere.

Imagine my surprise this morning during my walk at the beach when a RAN Seahawk helicopter flew over, along the beach.  What it was doing ~40km north of the naval base I have no idea.  Perhaps a proving flight or something?  Anyway, looked rather nice.

I bet they were more surprised than you.  "Sh*t, he's seen us.  Look innocent and try and fly in a nonchalant manner until we're behind that sand dune".

Clouds..................
Yup!  Exactly as Kit says, lots of boring low stratus;   "Anticyclonic Gloom"  according to the Met Office.

There was something low and noisy early in the afternoon, but I have not a clue what it was.  It may have been a  Typhoon twosome, a mob of MiG21's, a riot of Rafales or even a couple of squadrons of low flying motor cycles. It wasn't tuneful enough to be a high level march past by the Dagenham Girl Pipers......
