Yep, and it's something as a (very) lapsed Chemical Engineer leaves me scratching my head as to them not being modelled or even of the right size!

One of my jobs as Site Safety Supervisor back in the construction days was to make sure fuels, oils, chemicals etc were appropriately bunded.  IIRC they have to contain the total volume of the tank they surround plus a bit extra to allow for rain.  If one bund surrounds two or more tanks then it gets more complicated.

From my local scrap store, an AMT reboxing of a FROG B-26 marauder for a pittance.  My first thought was to turn it into something like an XB-48 but it will need a fuselage stretch, new wings and tail and something needs to be done with the side by side cockpit. Maybe a B-36 style dome?  My only large potential donor is a an Airfix F-27 which does not look quite right - too large and too narrow in chord.
EDIT:  the nose of the Lindberg 1/96 Vulcan just about matches the fuselage at the end of the B-26 greenhouse, with a little overlap at the back of Vulcan cockpit... only gains about an inch in length rather than the three I was hoping for, but it uses what I have.  The tail cone of the Vulcan could be grafted on for another inch or two?

1 x 1/72 Hasegawa F11F-1 Tiger.Once I opened the packet, I found out why it only cost him £1.50. It only has one wing and no windscreen. Oh well, I shall place an order with Kingkit on Thursday as I am paid that morning, and I shall keep the kit for spares etc.

Not a Whif acquisition, but definitely one that garners adoring ooohs and aaaahhhhs, I managed to lay my hands on TMCs NER Class O 0-4-4 tanks (LNER G5) for a reasonably sane (for the current model railway scene) price. I just need to decide what to run behind her now. Also looks like I managed to bag the last one at that price!

Finally.  From Model Roundup in the US.  Got here relatively quickly but then the couriers who were supposed to deliver it to me at work dicked around with it.  Wouldn't have happened if they had used Australia Post.

Final price to my door is about what I would pay from a local supplier except that they won't reach these shores for at least six months.

Ive wanted an Unreal Edsel ever since I found out about them.  Except original issues are like hens teeth and are priced accordingly and I don't think AMT repopped it until now.
It's an altered wheelbase Edsel funny car.   Completely stupid and therefore brilliant.

This one was reduced because the box is damaged.  A couple of corners are dinged in.  The plastic is fine.  I already have the Plymouth version.

Another kit i've been looking for. 1933 Willys Gasser powered by a Ford Cammer - World's Wildest Willys.  AMT have returned some of the original parts to the kit and redone the original transfers.  It's a tin box collectors limited edition release.  The tin was dented so it was reduced to less than an equivalent kit in a box.  I opened it and pushed the dent out with my thumb.

Oh yeah!

I saw (and heard....) 'The World's Wildest Willys' run during the US Drag Team's visits over here in the 60s. Totally awesome off the start, the whole car seemed to jump vertically about a foot when George Montgomery took off, MOST impressive.

And just for you Fred, I found this while Googling George's car.  ;D

The 'true story' of the Cammer engine, very interesting it is too.
