Quote from: PR19_Kit on February 17, 2026, 09:58:54 AMNo, I don't have to sell mine yet, I'll do that over the next few months, so I can move my stuff across more comfortably.

But somehow there seems to be two houses worth of 'stuff' packed into this one house of hers!  :-\  And the moving guys reckon they'll have it all packed up by lunchtime. Hah! Some chance!  :-\

Our condo is more than 2x the square footage of our old place. When we came to look at it, the realtor was happy to show us the roughly 100 sq. feet of private storage cabinets in our parking area. I thought "nice, but we won't really use it much".  After we bought the condo, I ended up using about 75% of that storage. It's almost as if our old place had been compressed as a .zip file and we decompressed it when we moved.

Stupidly, I thought I could do the move by myself - the new place was only a mile away...  how hard can it be? I moved all the delicate and sensitive stuff (computers, private files, my model stash, my wife's yarn) but after a week of non-stop back and forth over hills and speed bumps, my wife convinced me that we should hire movers for the bulk of the stuff. We boxed what we could and let them do the rest. It took them 3 hours to pack and one hour to unpack all our stuff and nothing was damaged or missing. Money well spent.

We were very lucky when we moved  11 1/2 years ago.  Two of the four removal men were modellers, and by feeding them limitless tea and chocolate digestives as they packed things up in  Carlisle  and a month later unpacked in Herefordshire, we had no breakages  and remarkably efficient service.  They were worth their fee!

I did that the  last time and it went fine actually,  and it was a 120  mile move using an  Astra and a box trailer. It was a rather special Astra though, that didn't lack for horsepower.............  ;)

Did any of your cars lack for horsepower?

Hehehe, now that you mention it, very few of them, the Toyota Space Cruiser being the least powerful I expect .

Mind you, I claim that it still holds the 'More than 7 seat lap record' round the old Silverstone circuit.  ;D

I would suggest that there's an excellent argument for model kits fitting that niche - the Wombat Stashâ„¢ being a prime example.

Both, IME...  :banghead:

I need an Unseen University-style L-Space storage facility...  :-\
Sadly, I currently have a 'Black Hole' (tm) system, where things come in and then proceed to get lost until after the time I need them...

Hope the move went well, Kit.
