On that note, if anyone knows literally anything at all about both the ATP and Griffin sets then regale me, please.
Seeing as how you ask so nicely.........

Originally both Airfix and Revell put out their 727-100 kits, both of which were pretty good, the Airfix one being slightly
more finer detailed to my mind. But many of the airlines were flying the longer -200s by then and so Griffin released their conversion fuselage for either of the two -100 kits. It's very good indeed, and fits either of the -100 kits nicely.
Griffin didn't last very long for some reason and the conversion vanished from the shelves, so ATP did one instead. (Rumour had it that the ATP version was moulded from a mould taken from a Griffin one, but who's to say is that's correct? The Griffin ones always seemed a bit crisper, so it could be right.)
Later still Airfix re-cut their -100 moulds to make the -200 so conversions weren't needed any more.
Of course that meant the only -100 in town was the Revell one, and they've been OOP for ages, so oddly what we now need is a -100 conversion! It's not just a case of sawing down a -200, the doors & windows are in different places and the #2 engine intake is a different shape too.
Good haul there BTW.
