Quote from: Weaver on October 22, 2025, 02:35:20 AMThe Westland Pterodactyl's very steampunk, isn't it?

I've never seen anything that more needed to be powered by a sphere of glowing green liquid and crewed by an anime girl in a leather flying helmet and a talking dog with long floppy ears in my life...

Could also do well as a post-apocalyptic flying craft

NARSES2

May well be in the "wrong scale" for some, but it will still be tiny.

Perhaps arm it with a very light mg and it would become an anti drone aircraft ?  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

7.62 might be just the right size.

The wingspan of the Pterodactyl V was 46' 8", 11.667" in 1/48 scale. Two Vickers MG with 1200 rounds firing forward and it was to have a turret with two Lewis guns, the guns mounted on their sides.

Cheers Jon, that's very interesting.

Latest Mikro mir announcement is a 1/72
L T V (Project Pluto) nuclear powered cruise missile.

Got to love Mikromir for their choices! 😊

Fantastic Plastic did that a while back, quite a neat looking missile. Like a Regulus 2 with added boosters!  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

EVERYthing they did was like that, sadly. :(

Tell me about it. I was very tempted by their Vickers Supermarine type 559 until I saw the price........!

One of the few I bit the bullet and bought it.

New Dash - 8 is very welcome and, in 1/72 too😊👍. While Mikromir kits m ay not be the easiest builds, one cannot fault their imaginative cboice of subjects.
Maybe a Dash-7 might follow?

Captain Canada

Saw that on my Facebook feed this morning. Cool news for the enthusiast for sure. I like their rendering in the grey, like a covert kind of deal. So many options for the bird, US special ops, various coast guards, Gonzo. Might be an excuse for Leading Edge to produce their conversion set again.

I would love to see this continue on to the Dash-7 Beermonster. Such an under represented piece of machinery ! I'd really like to see the -7 in 144th scale thos.
