Quote from: NARSES2 on September 01, 2025, 05:25:55 AMI'll probably end up getting a Ju 388 when it comes out as I've always liked the look of it, and as for the P.193 I've built a resin example, but it's good to see an I.M. one

Those subs are interesting, if I'm honest I wasn't even aware of them.
I'm assuming the subs are being issued as a set instead of individual models? I'd not heard of them either but, they'll go nicely with the set of three subs (also 1/144) to be released by Revell.

Quote from: chrisonord on September 01, 2025, 06:50:10 AMYou could wiff the P. 193 some more, by putting the tail fin on the top and the tail wings angled downwards.

Like the Stuka follow-on Ju-187, with a rotating tail... :banghead:
It didn't have a rotating tail, the vertical stabilizer/rudder was triangular and pivoted
at the leading point. It only moved in the vertical plain. The rotating tail thing is a
myth.

OK, that makes a lot more sense. Thanks.

Yes, individual models. Mikro-Mir do quite a lot of interesting submarine kits, both in 1/144 and 1/350, along with some midget submarines in1/35.

 . I've put them on my watch list. It'll come down to price (as always) in the end ;)  ;D .I do like Mikro Mir's out of the box (no pun intended) choices. <_<  I've just ordered the 2 K -class subs! ;D  Modern subs are, to me anyway, the maritime equivalent of boring, grey jets. They're dull, characterless giant tadpoles. If memory serves, the French Navy had its own equivalent to the M class RN sub, the Surcouf I think. Now, that would be nice addition to the fleet

I see a 1-man Brit ride-on torpedo, but no Chariot... as yet...
There again, nothing a bit of tubing can't replicate...

I thought someone had done it but I might be getting confused with the Italeri SLC.

Yeah, I think that's the only kit out there - having said which, there was a build article in Military Modelling once, complete with crew - but I'm not sure whether that was resin or scratch.

You and me too, maybe 2-3 of them.  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Before I clicked on the image on the image, the lower one looked like a biplane with the shadow. So a bi-trislnder?

A win for me because I like the scale and the subject.  ;D

The Westland Pterodactyl's very steampunk, isn't it?

I've never seen anything that more needed to be powered by a sphere of glowing green liquid and crewed by an anime girl in a leather flying helmet and a talking dog with long floppy ears in my life...
