the cold weather Brits have had the base coat of buff done, and then a coat of black / brown ink, followed by a coat of brown ink yesterday. So far this morning ive managed to drybrush then buff again,  as this give a good depth of colour to British DPM, and means that i can let that dry over lunch and then start adding the splodges and swoops that are the green, brown and black  of the pattern,  after that ill need to decide if  i need to work in some white patches to make it look like an extra colour was added,, that will only be very fine swoops so as not too overwhelm the original pattern,  Im not certain if i will of not, as it would be a big change on the figures

XF5 green is on all 19, next up is xf 10 brown  ( i have the paints i used for most of my larger army's, written down in a folder,  it means that no matter how long it takes between units i can replicate them)
Im doing 3 or 4  at a time as i need to re-shake the bottle, wash the brush well and make certain that theres a track playing on the PC in the back ground,  keeps me from brning out and the desk falling to dust.

brown is on, black will be next, thinner lines than the other colours ( due to visual density)  and for boots and the guns.
any progress is good progress.  And in this case its far more choice to gently poddle along than due to other influences.

Inside the Chieftain's Hatch Snapshot: Chimera and Variants

this years April release.   serious enough ( reference to track tension)  and  irreverent enough i had a good laugh along

boots are now black, gun bodys ditto, and squiggles have been added as well
i need to do webbing in the cayman green that match the 58 pattern set i have, and then try to get a plastic green that matchs the body of the SA80s ( it may well end up as Tamiya XF5 green due to close enough)  and a small amount of gun metal on weapon body and gun barrels,  doing them as a large batch, but in 3s or 4s mean it keeps going.

not too certain what then next project will be after that...

letting the gun metal dry, then it will be starting on the muddy brown ( daler rowley system 3 raw umber )  on the bases, once dry its mix up some slightly watered down PVA and add the flock and snow scatter.

still not got any idea on the next big project

drying time again
flock and snow effect are on all 19  so its going to be after lunch and i can varnish ( hopefully)
had a quick tidy up on the desk, and used a 1 sided razor blade to clean up the painting tile, as that ends up with splash and rings from ink and basing on it.

all 19 are now done
so this years total so far becomes

78 figures   3 pieces of scenery.

the semi matt varnish can ran out as i was doing them,  so the plastic lid from that is now supergluing to one of the chip shop mush pea tubs, to start making a second chemical / fuel tank.  And another half dozen or so parts have gone on the AVRE so a little more progress on that as well  ;D

on the last hlf dozen parts for the AVRE, and possibly the most tricky, The 2 turret baskets,  I admit Tamiya have done a marvellous job with them, 3 parts each,  delicate enough they look the job, but sturdy enough they will hold together when assembled,  im just having to be careful fumbling with my fat fingers, i swear the last time i did it, it was easy  :banghead:

I'm experiencing that all the time now mate. Combination of hand/eye co-ordination issues and the "shakes"  :-\
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

need to heat weld the tracks together, but thats probably a weekend job.  and i now need to get the dozer blade out and figger out what goes where
iwill probably end up sat on the floor with multiple Tankograds, my haynes manual, and several other books i have around me, wile trying to stay calm and not superglue anything untoward,  so it will probably be mainly my fingertips and various chunks of resin  :banghead:

And there is the reason for using physical books, rather than having multiple tabs open on a laptop...
