Thank you Rick.

merely the flick of a pen nib, at this moment.
and to think many others wont notice / get it.

In other news left the show with less than i came with, a chunk of no longer wanted lord of the rings orcs and goblins, some ork boys and the very british civil war books that i no longer wanted as my opponent has left the area, and i decided that the forces i sort of wanted were going to be not worth getting for "fun painting"  thouse being the Forest of Dean free troops, verderers, free miners, and an armoured train.  or the Bristol independent forces  again miners, some sailors and some Bristol armoured cars, and aircraft, possibly with troop carrier trams / trolley buses, as one of the maintenance depots for them war on the sight of the Filton BAC S03 machine shop where my late farther worked    It was going to be a lot of faffing for something that isnt massively an era that im interested in.
after getting the stuff that didnt sell back into the loft im rather bushed

As they say these days, IYKYK. Happy to have contributed to the Furthering of the Puns, or The Inciting of the Groans and Rolling of the Eyes.  ;D

Always good to get rid of the extraneous, and yeah - sometimes doing all the acquisition and work just isn't worth the hassle, for something that's only of peripheral interest.

the Very British Civil war is an interesting idea, with the premise that the abdication didnt happen, and the country falling apart into various factions, pro and anti royalty, free citys and towns, foreign intervention forces, both left and right wing, and the advance of technology due to the low force level and desperation,  one of the things mention was " the Brum gun" a SMG developed to use as little material as possible and be readily producible to keep the city defended, so something like a STEN,  with the additional problem that locally produced ammo dosnt have the best of QC, so it has the problem that its getting a rep of the dead mans gun when it dosnt fire.
If you have multiple people wanting to play you can do forces that start as a small unit of generics, pro and anti government regular army, or some renegade RN sailors on foot patrol, and then go on to local church militias,  hunt groups with horses and dogs, inter war armour like the vickers independent tank, or Russian or other continental powers.
But its a lot of effort  if you dont have the opponents.  Hence wile the thought experiments for troops and the formations for it are low cost and take tittle volume, in the end its taking up space i can use for something else, and space is  one of the big constraints i have.
In the end i can continue on with other projects and if i ever want to can come back without too much trouble.

Reading your notes it is indeed  Thinking about London now. Obviously a line of control along the Thames, but east and west ? Maybe on the Wandle to divide SE & SW London and the Lea to divide NE & NW ? Although the Lea's a bit far east ?

Narses :  London is a bit of an odd one ( i will add its been a wile sice i read the books and as they got sold yesterday i cant refresh my memory)  you have the problem its the centre of control for the King and Parliament, but it also has strong leaning in parts to others,  add into it the real history concerning the political marches  from the inter war period and its very much heavily patrolled but quite febrile, but any big swings one way or the other tend to get quite heavy responses from all party's....  and for the rest,  cant remember more sorry  :banghead:

So a game version of the movie 'Richard III' with Ian McKellen, then. Interesting.

A most splendid spin on the tale.

after a quick trip to Wiki.  yup in a very similar vein to the film.
you can add your own variations on the theme, as per player and GM choice.
and for any of you interested in the premise, the books were done by Solway Crafts & Miniatures, a quick google search didnt find a company site, but several traders had the books available

away from AVBCW
ive done a bit more on the UNSC ships, just the normal, re-grey ink drybrush grey that gives the base,
i also assembled 4 more of the 1:48 jerry cans, then dropped one and snapped the handles of another,     so ive 3 of the 4 done, if i find the body of the 4th, i may use it on a bse with the top part either planted in mud or snow,, at the bottom of a pile of gear or tarped over.
the tank is slowwwly continuing, its more a case of bumbling away than lost mojo.  I like the Tamiya Chieftain, its easy to get together and asside from the gun clamp its fairly good, and as the 165mm gun dosnt need one, jobs a good un.
