8 Destroyers done  http://shop.groundzerogames.co.uk/full-thrust-starships/japanese/ft-1305.html
all numbered D1 to 8  and with the Japanese name on one side of the base, and the English translation on the other,    i was going to try the Kanji figures as well but even with a Technical drawing pen i haven't got either the skill or the base size left :(
( i didnt have the space on Yudachi to put the full English name, its down as "evening thunder in summer"  not as evening thunder shower...)
I have names for the 3 battle ships  Yamato, Musashi and Hoki   the super dreadnoughts will be Nagato and Mutsu,  the Carrier Shinano.,  and the command dreadnought Mikasa.
I will eventually have to do the fighter packs, but the thought of tiny bits of metal, and cleaning and gluing just put me off.
As and when i expand the fleet it will be a lot of  cruisers and frigates, with possibly a small wing of  battle-cruisers to act as a fast wing.
after that i will have to get some NAC  ships as they are the next most aesthetically appealing fleet for me, im doing this on a " I want to paint" rather than any kind of power or capacity  scale  ;D

i sit typing, as the sweet smell of varnish ( and success ) surrounds me  or is it the other way round ??
1 transport, 2 picket ships 8 destroyers, 3 battleships and a super carrier, painted named and varnished,  so happy penguin    the last four count as models due to multi parts and size

20 figures 12 pieces of scenery and 13 models

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

thank you gents.  Yes very much so, I have had a pleasant time, ive done a chunk of painting, re read some of my Appleseed manga, and at the moment have the feel of a week off well spent.   <_<
Mrs SP and I have had a morning at the movies watching the New Jurassic Park movie,  cheering on dinosaurs, and  watching Karma arrive red in tooth and claw,  and hoping that more of the cast make it, than you think will.   :o  had a meal together out, and enjoyed quiet afternoons.  Got one of the cats to the vets for boosters as well.
the weeekend is likely to be quiet as well, and monday is a dental appointment, tuesday is back to work..  ho hum.

and again the scent of varnish hangs in the air
the 2 super battleships are done  http://shop.groundzerogames.co.uk/full-thrust-starships/japanese/ft-1311.html
as is the  command dreadnought  http://shop.groundzerogames.co.uk/full-thrust-starships/japanese/ft-1312.html

got to work out how to store them all safly next, the flying bases on the smaller stuff are nice but they are a little tippy, and if not carefully packed will snap at the junction between the ship and base.   i think i have a solution not certain if its a full or partial one but that is a problem for tomorrow

If it was the other way round, that would imply that you were surrounding the smell of varnish, which could only happen if you'd been drinking it. That would certainly result in a productive weekend, but not, I suspect, in the way you'd want... :o

Weaver, that is rather a different take,  :o   i was more of the mind of switching success, and varnish,  a little more subtle....
but  your correct on the shot glass of varnish not being the best chaser for a productive afternoon modelling

ive had a look at my ship storage idea, and it seams to be a goer so i am currently trying .
I was given an off cut of shadow foam,   https://shadowfoam.com/  by a friend, who was using it for tool storage, with the quote of saying " its useful in tool boxs as a shadow  board / pocket storage thing,  you can instantly see if anythings missing"   and at around 7" square was a solution looking for a problem.  it sits wonderfully in one of the storage draws  i use for figures  and being  30mm deep is just shallower than a flight stand.  so ive used a base to mark out where things can go, and am now  carefully cutting
