admittedly i got mine cheap second hand and without the canopy, so im going to build it and then see if i can use an old kit canopy or possibly a piece of clear packaging, or possibly just go for the small canopy's that modern F1 cars have as opposed to the kits full length fighter style one.

it will be fun to build without worry and i can paint as i wish, and add any decals from the stash as well.

Something like a large-scale F-16 or -18 two-seat canopy looks close.

You'll enjoy that mate.  Any figures with it?  They often come with a driver or a standing figure.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Fred, alas nope, there isnt any mention of one on the sprue map either, possibly its one without    not a problem, i have a plesier ( sp?) 1:24 eve set ( somewhere) if i do want to do a figure with it,  or possibly re scale and go for a 1:35 scale, as ive a few of those i can re purpose as well.

They are anime figures so are out of proportion.  Maybe 1/24 legs with a 1/35 torso and a 1/24 head.

This is one of the kit figures - 1/24 vinyl (so paint & glue adhesion can be an issue).

slowly progressing, and had to deploy something normally outside my comfort zone today,
the body has the cockpit section added from the underside, but i have painted the base of that Tamiya NATO black  including the sides, so to avoid a unsightly section of that amid the Ford ice diamond white of the rest of the body i decided to line in the floor in the black,  either its tape and hope, or the other option.
Time to break out my bow pen...
its been a long time since i needed to use one, and the one i have i inherited from my late father in law, but a couple of minutes to check its good and to remember how to use it, a quick pass on each side, and jobs a good un     then carefully crean up the pen, slacken off the jaws so it wont strain and carefully put back in the storage box..  and the side do look rather good if i say so myself.  ;D

I remember having a set of various types for GMD (geometrical & mechanical drawing) at school. Doubt if I ever used them and no idea where they are now.

Me and GMD never actually hit it off

i was told i didnt have the aptitude for technical drawing ...   considering we had done nothing of a similar nature before this utterance, i will go no further,  but i have learnt to use technical drawing pans ( care and cleaning of) since and still have my 30 ish year old Rotering in a usable condition, and its a useful tool to aid the painting and detailing process.   It is a case of adapt and utilise any suitable tool, and when i do get the best i can afford, and look after it properly after...  <_<

I recently found an old school report my mum had kept from the 2nd year of senior school, so I was 12/13. My GMD master had written in bold green ink - " Christopher has no aptitude, nor liking for GMD and tends to spend the entire lesson attempting to keep the rest of the class amused. Which he is very good at"

I'm quite proud of that  ;D [/quote]

i admit its one reason i use the old hairy stick for paint,  i got a cheap revel airbush to try, and realised even that took multiple times the length of spraying a single model  / coat to clean and a more expensive one would-ant take less time, but certain as certain would be a power more expensive to repair...  :banghead:     the only problem  / colour would be something like airliner / anti flash white.... i get round that by using a spray can to undercoat / main coat....

My reasoning EXACTLY!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Seriously?  :o

On average it takes me about 5 minutes to clean my airbrush after each use.

I only pull it apart & thoroughly clean it about once, occasionally twice, a year.

But, then, I generally only use Tamiya acrylics & SMS (& Testors, while they existed) lacquers through it, both of which clean up extremely easily.

I've only ever had to break that system when I've used enamels (Humbrol) or more water-based acrylics (Life Color, AK, Vallejo) through it - they have all lead to completely gummed up workings & the need to pull it apart & sanitise it of their sticky residues.
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!
