I've decided that I just have to accept that my medical conditions, in so far as they affect my modelling abilities, aren't going to get any better, indeed they will deteriorate, and that rather than winding myself up by trying to achieve standards* I was able to only a couple of years ago I'll have to accept that I can't anymore. If I continue to do so then I'll end up no longer enjoying the hobby I love.

This resonates very well indeed with me. Not that I'm deteriorating at any particular rate at the moment (bar the eyesight!) but that day will come, if I'm allowed to stay alive long enough. And to be honest, I've never built for anyone but myself anyway. This is my meditation. My yoga. And my game. If I'm happy enough, it's good enough.

While I can admire "perfect" builds, weathered, shaded and God knows what, they're neither something I am trying to replicate nor strive to learn. I don't want to have my models in exhibition cupboards but rather in my hands, playing. I suppose this way of looking at a model as anything but a perfect scale replica of a real subject is a good part of why I find whiffing so satisfying. There's just nothing to compare against, and I'm building the facit as I go along.

And all that said, I've enjoyed your builds so far, and I se no reason why that should change, so from my perspective, an increased output is good news!

Take care. Play on!
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Thanks Gents.

Some progress. The Spitfire's topside has had it's second coat. It's Xtracolour so it's a case of "come back in a week sir, it should be dry by then "   The fw 187's lower surfaces have had their second coat. It's Lifecolour, so I'll mask them tomorrow hopefully.

And I've started the first of my Operation Downfall builds.

Been masking and unmasking this morning, along with getting some paint on the internal bits of my GB build. The Spitfire has had her topsides finished and after a couple of touch-ups is ready for transfers. The Fw has had her undersides painted and masked off and is now ready for the start of her upper camouflage scheme.

Speaking as a Proud Antipodean, isn't it always Beer O'clock?
(I can't stand the stuff, but the sentiment is still strong...)

Likewise not being a fan of the hops beverage, I believe it is always beer o'clock but that's because it's always beer o'clock somewhere.

We Antipodeans don't care where it's beer o'clock, as long as it is beer o'clock!

I'd prefer cider o'clock, or wine o'clock, or bourbon o'clock, or (sometimes) even scotch o'clock personally.  ;D

The Wooksta!

Irrespective of the alcoholic beverage, it's unseemly to drink it before 12 noon.  Unless you haven't been to bed and have been drinking through the night on holiday.  That's the only exception I make.
