I don't use my 'smart' phone to its full extent either. It CAN get onto the internet and stuff, but that's what I use my laptop for. The phone is for making phone calls (woweee.....) and texting.

Correct, but my point is, don't assume they are technically capable either, and proceed to offer them no alternative.

I've known 70-year olds who are on social media more than me, and I know others who've never touched a computer in their lives and are utterly resistant to ever trying.

That's what I use mine for and, guess what,  I also ACTUALLY TALK TO PEOPLE! 😉😂. I have been present at a restaurant where two the diners in our party were talking by text!

Clearly, their intelligence and wits has been so dulled by the silly electronic thingies in their hands that it did not occur to either to ask if they could swap seats with someone.

Even the Government seem to be saying that everyone has to a) have a computer of some sort b) have a broad-band connection to be on the internet and c) be wholly conversant with all the bells and whistles of such a system to only exist, in an official way, in this country.

That's surely wrong and very narrow minded.

As a low-level minionbureaucrat in state government, my particular lean on the requirement that everyone be wired and connected has a lot to do with one of the larger expenses in government - payroll.  If you can have fewer employees manning desks at customer service centers or in the cubefarm answering the phone, your agency can save money in the budget and "invest it in infrastructure/better services".  While slashing the employees in favor of info-tech systems does get rid of institutional inertia, it also get's rid of plenty of institutional knowledge- the folks who can maneuver around the system and help the customer (the public) in an expeditious manner.  And its going to get worse as we move more and more of those info-tech systems into Artificial Stupidity.

Now, let's get back to bashing discussing Airfix's releases before Chris throws the book at all of us.

And yet they can't update their job/apprenticeship websites to take someone's CV and use it to auto-populate the application forms like many others can and do

On the Skyvan props front:

1. According to an official post on the Airfix forum, there will be 3D print files for both 5 and 7 bladed props, as the Pink Aviation aircraft in question has been fitted with both in it's time.

2. I've seen quite a few other people suggesting that Airfix sell physical 3D printed props (not just STL files), for those customers who don't have access to a 3D printer, in Youtube comments on their latest video. I've added my voice to that, and I'm about to go and suggest the same thing on the forum. I suggest anyone who cares about this does the same: they DO read comments and suggestions, although they aren't good at explaining why they do or don't take heed of them. In any case, 5 minutes of electronic "ink" can't hurt.

I get why they won't includes the parts because the whole idea of the Vintage Classics was to produce the kit in original colour scheme.
However, they are offering a totally new colour scheme /decals so, would it really have been  so difficult to update the moulds to include the appropriate parts?

I'm sure economics might have played a part and, I have no idea about how difficult it might be  to revise a mould so, hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I could answer that one 😊
