Anyway latest re-pop in the Vintage Classics range is the old Short's Skyvan.

Rumour has it, on the Airfix forum, that the mould for the SR.N4 has either been literally destroyed (no detail on how or why) or it's being retired and will never be re-popped again. This might be "last chance to see" folks...

There's a full sized one of these bumbling around above me at the moment.  I think it's the parachutists from Shobdon airfield.

There's a rumour at Britmodeller that the flower kits have been cancelled, so those who were upset about Airfix trying something new can sleep easy. I'm personally disappointed and hoping there's been a miscommunication, but there's no longer a page for them on the website.

Maybe but Airfix aren't that great at running their website either, so it might be that they've just taken the page down to revise it and are slow getting it up  again.

Having said that, Revell have also just launched a flowers range, so Airfix might feel that the market's overcrowded now.

Or, maybe it's just that a lot of people feel that if Airfix are going to try something new, it should be like WW1 aircraft or, 1/350 warships or, a range of Sci fi subjects etc.

They're not averse to new subjects per se, it's just that they'd rather it was something they're more used to and, appealed to them. I'd suggest that, if the rumours are true, Airfix has simply accepted reality.

Obviously that's pure speculation on my part. I guess we'll know for sure in due course. Personally, I wouldn't be disappointed if it were true. I'd rather have an Avro Lincoln than a bunch of flowers but, that's just me.
