Today, Thursday, was an extremely low flying Hercules navigating south along the A49. He was at least driving with due consideration for other road users.

Probably an "I Follow Roads" mission profile ;D

That's why we heard and saw a Typhoon over central London quite low and at full volume this lunchtime!  :tornado:

I think you misread what Kit wrote. Its like the story about the man that was going to St Ives who met a man with seven wives, (not all of them his own I bet),
each wife had seven sacks and each sack had seven cats with each cats having seven kittens,
kittens, cats and wives, how many were going to St Ives?

Kit had said that they past over him en route to Towbridge meaning that Kit was going to Towbridge, especially as he was going to a railway lecture which I am guessing that the Hercs were not.

I think it was a joke  ;D I took it as one anyway
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

PR19_Kit

There wasn't room in the lecture hall for the Hercs anyway, it was pretty small.

They could have been parked outside though, but the 100 odd Paras they usually carry were significant by their absence at my lecture too...........  ;D

I am a pedant and I was trained in pedantry by an expert.

What Kit should have said was "...as I was on my way to Trowbridge for a railway lecture I was passed over by two Hercs..."

I was joking Gondor.  Never assume otherwise with me as 90% of what comes out of my fingers is facetious.

The St ives riddle BTW is unclear as it doesn't specify in which direction the polygamist is travelling.  He could also be going to St Ives but is travelling slower than "I" due to the frequent toilet stops the seven wives would require.

The St Ives riddle never says that the man is a polygamist either. It simply states that he has seven wives with him, not that they are all or any number between one and seven, his!

Some times jokes are difficult on here due to not hearing the inflection in a persons voice where as for myself I am usually fairly pedantry myself so telling if I am joking is the reverse of yourself.

You are correct about the polygamy sir.  I stand corrected.   ;D

As I was travelling to St Ives I met a man who was traveling away from St Ives accompanied by seven married women.
It doesn't really work as well does it?

i will endeavour to remember to append smileys to indicate humour.
