It looks the FAA Sea Kings went out in a blaze of glory, as they flew the rescue flights to get the flooded bus passengers out the other day, didn't they Jim? It sure looked like Navy Sea King on the news footage anyway.

The FAA Merlins at Culdrose were in that sort of scheme when Mrs_PR19 and I were there a year or so ago. They look like Sea Kings with the internal pressure cranked up painted like that.  ;D

A pity the RAF never painted any in the all-yellow scheme, 202 Sqdn. of course.

Hm, now THERE'S an idea.....  ;)

Only just seen through the murk y'day, what looked and sounded like a DC6 trundling up the Severn Estuary just below the cloud base.

It was definitely a Douglas 4 prop of some sort, that fin is unmistakeable, but it could have been a DC4, or even a Seven, but I don't think there are any Sevens left flying, are there?

Air Atlantique used to fly that route with their Sixes to import flowers from the Channel Islands back in the 80s, but I thought all their Sixes had been grounded ages ago.

A VERY low pair of Hawks, and a couple of small light singles(probably out of Shobdon) making a tremendous and unnecessary noise at about 11 this morning.

Kit,  Air Atlantique used to  operate a couple of  4 engine Douglas  aircraft in a pollution control role.  I don't know what happened to them.

Yes, they were the same Sixes that they'd used on the 'Flower Runs', but I don't know what happened to them afterward either. I still have a T-shirt with one of them on the front, with the reggie G-SIXC.  ;D

Working just outside Midway airport yesterday. I had to stop the conversation with my co worker each time a Southwest Airlines 737 flew over climbing out. Just about able to count the lug nuts!

Whilst walking the dog today I heard the unmistakable sound if a C-130, looked around and saw it. It looked and had to look twice at it like it was painted orange, or at least the rear if it was.

Interesting, looks like spray bars just aft of the rear 'para-drop' doors.

I wonder who operates it as Air Atlantique used to have that contract, flying their Daks out of Coventry.
