WestJet's new Disney scheme 737 being pushed-back.

Not a great pic, taken through the windshield of my truck and it's just starting to snow for real

Down to Winchester on Monday, so that the younger Rheged Junior could collect his Master's thesis ( "STEEL DINOSAURS?"British tank design and use 1945 to 2000)back------he's passed, and thus both Junior Rhegeds now have or will have the letters MA after their names------insert here intensely proud parent emoticon.   All that we saw during the entire journey were a couple of Islanders with odd shaped noses near Andover. Are they watching me?

More than likely, you being 'one of us'......  ;)

There used to be a couple of those based out of Odiham when the RAF's Best Air Traffic Controller was there, they lived in their own hangar too, and very secretive people flew them.

BTW Isn't it GREAT when your kids make good? Well done your twin MAs.

well done to both of them, from here as well Rheged,  and ill add colour me intrigued by the title given  :tank:   ill ask the question,  how would someone get a copy of said work, if it interested them in some way?
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

With a little bit of luck, I might be able to put the basic points on here soon.  It may also be possible to give a link to the full thing when it is formally accepted into Univ. of Winchester library some time early next year ..........watch this space.  I may be able to put a link to his undergrad work on "THE LOGISTICAL IMPLICATIONS OF THE FALKLANDS WAR"  up here some time  too.

thank you, its a subject I find very compelling to read on, to compare the ideas vs the reality

Just after 3 O'clock in the afternoon and the light is fading, mind you the rain has stopped which is maybe why this guy is airborne.
Maneuvering slowly at this point, about 100-150 ft, and in this shot about 300yds south of the house.
Sad to think that there is just over a month to go before they are gone from Prestwick.

At exactly 1:00pm GMT today, flying west at VERY low level along the road from Leominster towards Wales,  an Apache.  A few minutes later, two of the AS365s out of Stirling Lines going the same way.   And then a PAIR of Apaches low, heading east.  Is it just the Hereford Cowboys going out to play, or is something exciting happening in Wales?

Early this afternoon, in CAVU conditions amazingly, we had a low fly-by, and I DO mean LOW, by an Extra 300 of all things.

Considering how close we are to Berkely Nuclear Power Station, now admittedly de-activated, he was WELL under the permitted 250 ft. It was dark blue with pale blue wings but I couldn't read the reggie against the Sun.

Just got a couple of miles down the gravel road from home on my way to work when I noticed the sky was all bright to the east, this is at 4am in the morning. So stopped to take a look and saw one of the clearest Aurora Borealis I've ever seen.  The waves of light were really outstanding.

Wonder if that had anything to do with the really clear air too, the lights of every little town and farm could be seen for miles, you could see them all the way to Calgary (about 90 km)

Just after 0930 on 1st January The retiring Navy S-61 and it's replacement Bristows S-92 have just done a flypast over Ayr and Prestwick.

The S-61 stood down at midnight as the S-92 came on task.
