The days of "the underwater adventures of Jaques Cousteau" still glow in my mind, so I am adapting a 1/300 meteor to fit the bill....yep, helicopter and all !!!

Jeffry Fontaine

Looking good so far.  Will you keep it in 1/300th scale?

Yep, am going to keep it 1/300th...bashing a 350 heli from another kit down a tad...the thought of sanding off all of those windows and doors makes me shudder !!!
As far as the build goes, it is somewhat odd...will have a write up on modeling madness when finished.  Some definite glitches in the kit !!!
good idea about the tender...it would also be a great sub hunter, with all of the bow thruster steering and all...

boy is this thing fiddly !!!!  test fit everything !!! (twice!!!)

Captain Canada

That kit's only 23 bucks at my local.......and it looks like it will scale easy enough to my 350th stuff.

Might have to smuggle her home in the next few days..........

the most complicated instructions I have ever seen for assembling three pieces of plastic !!!!  the instructions are really horrible...but, it is starting to look better:

That is truly one clean-looking ship (and model) you have on the way.

Please keep the pics coming.  Naval subjects are such a great change of pace (now, why I'm too chicken to actually BUILD one of my own ship kits, I'll never know!)

I think the thought of rigging makes people wary at first...until you get the hang of it, and then it is fun as get out !!!  that, and making a jig to hold the ship's hull whilst building...that is a must.  few bucks in pine and a couple of screws make all the difference in the world !!!

Wow...that's really comign together g !

What sort of helo are you putting on her ?

And Baz, any 350th scale ships yer too chicken to build can be passed on to the RCN 2012 fund, CO me !

:P

And did I just call you chicken ? Them's building words, boy !

Not to mention the satisfaction in modeling something having a purpose beyond simply blowing up someone/something!

This is looking very fine, C-Man.

In this scale, what is the overall length?
