Feck.......if I didn't ahve a billion kits already, I'd be down at the shop picking that one up tomorrow.

Maybe I still will !

Also can't wait for RoG big 72nd scale SAR boat. Now that baby could house a SlingSHAR no-problem !

Looking good, g, btw. Keep 'em coming ! Can't wait to see her with the chopper embarked. Especially as I can't see where it'll go !

:P

Revell do/did one of the German Breman class frigates in 1/300 scale that has a Lynx in it. And the chinese have copied the Oliver Hazard Perry kit and converted it to 1/300 scale as well (badly i heard !!!)

Nice looking kit, be interesting when you add the Helo deck and chopper.

BTW Some of the wargaming stuff is in 1/300 scale including modern armour and vehicles, so you might be able to find a suitable light recon helicopter and possibly a utility vehicle to flash out you kit a bit.

Cheers

Good idea Geoff...but I am having a ton of fun scratching/bashing a Kamov...here it is still in single rotor on the new helipad...the barn will be on the port side of the ship, and the main crane has been moved to CG/maindeck to give the pilot's some breathing room:

Oh, don't make me do the math (and in METRIC yet!).   :P

Judging by the Northwest Short Line's "The Chopper" you have nearby, I'm guessing your actual kit's overall length so far would be about 40 cm long or so?

CC mentioned it is available at his local shop.  Does anyone know if this kit is currently available as a re-release or just on ebay (and in the odd "local" model shop)?

if you want ship models, this is the place to go:

http://tridenthobbies.com/store/merchant.m...ct_Code=RMG5208

It is 13.5" long...a little small, but with more do-dads than you can shake a stick at...I picked mine up locally for 17.00 (hobbytown usa ), but I normally buy from trident...

Bought one today, thanks!

Hmmn dont you need to do a float equiped helo to go on Calypso which should make the helix look even cooler.

Pity its a bit narrow or else you could possibly do the Royal Navy Antartic Patrol ship  HMS Endurance (ex MV Polar Circle) HMS Endurance.

So what are you going to do with the North Cormorant, Revells 1/200 scale North Sea Oil Rig ? North Cormorant ;)

Continuing the tradition of having our Ice patrol ships always called Endurance.

I know it's not going to be all that big, BUT Airfix are bringing out a 72nd scale RNLI SAR boat. I've been thinking of converting it into an inshore patrol vessel, as I believe the potential is there for conversion. Anyone else got any comments on this idea??

Yep, the chopper is a light Kamov with floats...and yellow, of course.

Spey_Phantom

if i would make a ship like that, i would get some revell minikits (especially A-109, ec135 or Bk117 cause off the 1/144 scale) to put on that platform, nice ship though  ^_^

well, at 1/300th scale, it is tough to find scout helis...did locate some nice Lynx's and a bunch of Seasprites for future use, but struck out on the wire and bubble types, so ended up going with a Kamov civvy,  a KA-126b (enclosed cargo) :
