Mostly seen US and British forces in the Allied side - how about other nations participation? This is an what-if website, am I right?

You're free to participate, mate!  ;D

My current builds are AUSTRALIAN, so neither British nor US.

I, also, have some Japanese builds which fit this scenario (that aren't aircraft) but it's a timed GB & I only have so much time in a day to (try to) complete the other builds I have planned for it, so they'll be done when I get to them.

I would love to, but I can't  :-\ - I've tons of ideas, that's why I love to give several ideas for several modelers

Mine is Soviet.  And there are more than a few Japanese builds going on.

Mine's Manchukuo, but stuck while the roofers are here. Risk of damage to models, lack of space in usual spraying areas and dust dust dust!

It's mentioned in more than one reference to the Tiger Force that the bombers would have had a few squadrons of Tempest IIs as escorts. While the white over black scheme of the bombers is mentioned many times, I've yet to find out what scheme they'd have painted the Tempests in, I guess because they never actually got that far, but what were they GOING to piant them in?

And any ideas of the Squadrons that were formed to use them out East please too?

I believe 183 and 247 were the first squadrons to convert to the Tempest II, Kit, but I don't know whether they were both slated to be part of the original Tiger Force plans.

Colours?  As far as I know, the Day Fighter Scheme.

Guideline's overseas RAF fighter camouflage and markings bookazine has more detail but unfortunately I'm not able to get to mine until Thursday.

While not historical and never referenced, I would love to see them with the same color scheme as the bombers :3

From what I've read it would have been the Day Fighter Scheme, but I did mine in MSG over PR Blue, same as my Hornet.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

PR19_Kit

But would that be the Europoean Day Fighter Scheme, Ocean Grey and Dark Green over Light Aircraft Grey/Medium Aircraft Grey?

Or would it be that used by the RAAF Spitfire XVIIIs complete with BPF roundels? Oddly there's an article on one of those in the latest IP{MS mag.

Actually painting them like the bombers really WOULD make them Whiffs, eh?  ;)

The Third Tactical Air Force started taking delivery of bare metal P-47s in January 1945, and they were operated in their unpainted state. Perhaps bare metal, or overall silver, Tempest IIs because they were going to operating with the USAAF and by late '45 the majority of their aircraft were bare metal. By that point in the war with the state of the Empire's air forces, and no way to attack the Allied bases, camouflage would be moot on tha Allied side.
That said the replacement of the P-47s with Tempest IIs was underway by the end of the year, so the camouflage and markings of the P-47s would make sense.

All of it makes a fair amount of sense, except that the aircraft I'm allocating to the Tiger Force escorts won't be a Tempest II, lovely aeroplane though they are. Luckily I see a RW one every few weeks here, an amazing situation to be in.

As the Tempest IIs were the planned RW type for the escorts, I figured I'd follow their schemes for my Whiff escort, but I'm not much of a fan of NMF finishes, they're a lot of work to get to look right, but who knows, I may end up doing that...............

RAF Day Fighter Scheme, then.

Better for medium altitude ops plus better over the sea than the Temperate or Tropical Land schemes.

As Japanese opposition was going to be nil, they were saving everything to support the
kamikazes, and anything that wasn't wearing the Hinomaru was automatically the enemy,
what does it matter?

One idea that I have to share: Let's say there isn't enough Tempest II for the RAF and other Commonwealth participants, how about an Thunderbolt Mk.III (aka an P-47N)!!  ;D
