The camo painting is almost done now, giving it a bit an "arctic" look.

The hangar sections are also installed now, the forward wone is for gorund vehicles while the one in the back is for the helicopers. Only very few of them were carried on board.
At the bow and stern, a 5" twin turret is installed. The AMB-1 will also get some AA guns.

Some more printed parts, the ramp for the ground vehivles (will be installed on the starboard side), the aircraft elevator and some Sikorsky H-5 helicopers. I ma not sure how to paint them, army green or more an arctic red. Maybe I will try both.

So far, it still looks like a small carrier, but the next steps will change this.

That camo looks really good.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I'm just loving this build. The vehicles and camo are just perfect. Are you going to add any 1/700 figures? Maybe a tiny bear somewhere?

How about one sitting on the fantail?
(waits for the penny to drop...)

Yes, I want to add some 1/700 figures on it, I have a lot of those tiny PE ones. Not so nice to work  with, and a lot of them get lost while adding to the model, but somehow it works.

But I do not have a bear in this scale, have to see if this is possible. Should be bigger than a human, so maybe I can print one. Have to try :)

If you do add one, to the fantail, you can have a...

Bear Behind.  ;)

Thank you, I'm here all week. ;D

I've had very good luck printing 1/350 figures on my resin printer, (5.2mm tall) a 1/700 figure would be  2.6mm - maybe make the bear 3mm?

nönöbär

I just printed a mermaid figurehead for a 1/1250 scale model, so I think the bear could be possible.

Will try on my next printing session.

I am now starting to add the tracks on the lower side of the hull. There will be tree in the middle of the base, one at the bow and one on the stern.

Printing a few more parts for the AMB-1: Helicopters, Elevators, Ramps and more. As usual, I print more parts than I need just in case something goes wrong in printing or working with those parts.

Some of the printed parts did not work as I tought, so I have to redsign them and print them again.

Some progress on the armament, heavy AA guns at the bow and stern.

Sikorsky H-6 helicopters and a Snow Tractor.

The tracks below the base are almost leveled ... :)

Added the boat platform on the port side, the landing crafts will be placed there. A crane mechanism will follow there.
