Tanks usually are less psi than a pickup truck. One thing I didn't mention was what can be done about trying to turn the contraption. It never shows how to do that in the 1930s magazine covers!

5000 tons of running gear should give you 5000 squaremeters of area in contact with the ground. As for turning you will have to have seperate tracks independent of each other and themselves able to turn so that they will move the hull.

And a suspension system. Not so much for smooth ride but to keep the tracks in contact with the ground. Having all the weight resting on one high spot would be a disaster. It's becoming more and more clear why this was just a magazine cover fantasy. And this doesn't include any thoughts about the cost!

However, I am looking forward to more progress on this build! Any thoughts on paint yet? Antarctic orange or subdued grey fading to white?

Well, we are talking about Operation Highjump, many classified things have happend there. I saw this in the Internet, so mit must be true...

And the USS Elswoth will look great ona magazine cover.

Playing a bit where all those tracks could be mounted.

When it comes to ground pressure, braking, hill climbing, and all the other nuisancey problems - just remember Handwavium and Kit's Rule Number Two.

Besides the Snow Crusier, there will be other vehicles on board.
Like the Snowtractor, a 1/72 scale verion can be found there: https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=53401.60

Now I printed them in 1/700 and I wonder how I will be able to paint them.

Carefully. You're welcome.  ;D
And with a microscope and a brush with 5 or 6 bristles...

Paint them? I'm not sure I could even SEE them!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I was asked about the color scheme for the AMB-1.
The deck will get some recognition markings to see it better in the arctic ice from the air. The hull will get some custom style camo, as I have some color left form another model that I had to mix together and that will not be good for a long time.

And I started to paint the Snowtractors. Tricky. Still WIP.

And of course the Snow Cruisers. Two different ones printed and I like the smaller one better (the one at the front) . Just have to complete the paint job for it.

Snow Tractors eh? I thought those were M577 APCs for hunting Aliens  ;D

You could add a couple of those, too - there are printables out there...
... just to confuse people more than they will be already...  ;D

The new year continued with the AMB-1, the flight deck now has been painted with its identification stripes and other markings.

Also, a new verison for the island has been made with the resin printer, currently in the process of being painted. A few details have to be added there as well.
